I dont know but I think mecha rengar sounds sick.... and why not??

I think it is because of the lore of the skins. The mecha skins are champions that have been augemented and created so they can counter Viktor's Battlecast Army. The corpse of Kha was taken after Rengar defeated him in the hunt and he was used in this project. This is at least how I understand it. Probably is wrong.

Project is cyborgs, mechas are giant robots. If you look at most of the splash arts, it's clear that they tower above humans.

Are projects really cyborgs? I feel like they are wearing suits or some sort like in Crysis.

They've been cybernetically augmented, As is shown with lines appearing along their skin, Master Yi being shown all those hallucinations from the visor over his eyes, etc. If you look closely at the Ashe login, you'll see what I mean.
