Hey guys,

I'm doing a research project on league of legends for class and I had a few questions. When league of legends was first introduced in North America and Europe, was type of demographics were targeted? What is the ratio of men and women league players in the beginning? How has it improved over time and through the development within the past 6 years? Thank you for your time!

By beginning. do you mean the payed beta or the full free to play release?

Over time, its gained so much popularity that for about 90% of the time on the game streaming website Twitch.tv, League of Legends will have the most views and always be on the front page of the website. It started out small with just two maps: Summoners Rift going traditional MOBA 5 v 5 style, and The Proving Grounds, a 1 v 1 to 5 v 5 based on custom match conditions. Over the years we've had two more 5 v 5 maps added and one 3 v 3 map added. The Proving Grounds was removed completely and replaced with Howling Abyss however, and has offered an alternative "All Random, All Mid" playstyle.

Remember if this is for school, you can't just copy pasta this as that would be plagiarism since I just wrote this myself.

League is not popular because of its gameplay, it's on point with smite, hots, dota 2, etc.. It's not a god like Moba.

League is so massive and popular because esports. Esports was basically a bunch of nerds who got together to compete before league came out, aka look at iem and how small it is. Leagues pr took esports and made it what it is today with multi million prize pools, massive stadiums, and on tv coverage, worlds was shown on ESPN.

Excellent questions, I'll do my best to answer them as accurately as possible.

  1. Riot games initially designed the game to target female, chronic, queefers. They felt this demographic would best adopt a computer game you can play alone with your legs spread.

  2. Interestingly enough, Riots target demographic did not respond favorably to the game, but instead attracted males, 50 years old and up, that had a fetish for vaginal air displacement. Fun fact: The 50 and older male queef fetish demographic still comprises 40% of the league population.

  3. Over the course of 6 years, riot has made huge strides in making non queefers feel welcome. First, they removed the wind setting on summoners rift and replaced the sound of air passing over pubes with real voices for champion sounds.

In my opinion, i think the game has made huge strides in distancing itself from the fetish community and I look forward to its future.
