Harenis - The Sand Warrior *Poll*

http://i.imgur.com/3pwrYr9.jpg[/IMG **Passive - Vessel of the Sands – **Harenis steals [0.2/0.3/0.4] armor and magic resist per stack of the sands debuff on enemy champions within 1500/2000/2500 range. //Changed from 1.0/1.5/2.0 per5 stacks//

Passive increases at level 11 and level 16. Enemy champions can have a maximum of 20 stacks of the sands debuff. Enemy champions who damage Harenis gain 1 stack of the sands debuff.

As this passive is very variable it needs finesse to balance it from early to late game.

**Q - Rending Strike – **Harenis empowers his sickle to do bonus physical damage [25/45/65/85/105] on hit and consume all stacks of sands debuff on enemy champion. [100% Total AD ratio].

If the enemy is afflicted with the sands debuff, Harenis gains a shield [50/75/100/125/150] increasing with the amount of stacks consumed. The shield lasts 2 seconds. When stacks are consumed from enemy champion, that champion cannot receive stacks of the sands debuff for 10/8/7/6/5 seconds. [25% Bonus AD Ratio]

Shield amplification amount increases with Harenis’s passive’s level. 3 per 1 sands debuff/ 5 per 1 sands debuff/ 8 per 1 sands debuff. //Changed from 15/25/40 per5 stacks.//

Cooldown: 10/9/8/7/6 Range: Basic Attack Range

**W - Assimilation – **Harenis becomes one with the sands. Harenis melds out of existence and becomes a cloud of sand. He can no longer be hit by missiles, Harenis is untargetable, but can be affected by AOE damage and CC. Harenis gains the ability to freely pass through units. Any enemy champions Harenis passes through are marked with the sands debuff. The sands debuff is applied at 5 stacks per second.

**Reactivate – **Harenis (As Sand cloud) violently flows into the ground reappearing behind enemy champion afflicted with the sands debuff within 1000 range.

This ability should be similar to Vladimir’s Sanguine Pool, except that I have given Harenis’s version counterplay. As this ability is central to his kit I feel like the low cooldown at max level is appropriate, especially when looking at skill max order.

I’d want to put a kill reset on this ability, but I feel like it would be too much.

Cooldown: 21/18/15/12/9 Range: 1000

**E - Sand Blast – **Harenis becomes rooted while this ability is active. He draws up sand from the ground, and blasts it in the direction of the cursor. (Think lower range Vel ‘ Koz ult). Any enemy champion hit is knocked back slowly to max range and marked with the sands debuff. Champions hit can only be knocked back once. While enemy champions are in the blast they receive 10 stacks of sands debuff per second. Deals [25/35/45/55/65] physical damage per second over 5 seconds [20% Bonus AD Ratio].

Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10 Range: 750

**R - Harena Tempestate – **

**Passive – **Harenis gains a maximum of [10/15/20] percent damage reduction based on the amount of sands debuff stacks within 1500/2000/2500 range. Harenis gains [0.3/0.4/0.5] percent damage reduction per stack of the sands debuff within range. //Changed from 1.5/2.0/2.5 per 5 stacks.//

Harenis loses this passive while this ability is active. (Debating on whether it’s necessary for him to lose the passive while it’s active, maybe make him lose the passive while it’s on cooldown? He doesn’t receive any damage buffs from his ultimate, so I think it might be fair).

**Active – **Harenis calls a sandstorm down over a section of the map covering a square measured [1500x1500]/[2000x2000]/[2500x2500]. The sandstorm is centered on his location and moves as he moves. All champions within the sandstorm have limited vision (think graves smokescreen). All champions on the outside of the sandstorm cannot see in and have vision of that area removed from their mini map.

Enemy champions within the sandstorm gain 20 sands debuff stacks per second.

Stealthed champions are revealed by the sands.

Enemy champions within the sandstorm have reduced movespeed. (Idea for reduced blink/dash ability range, but not sure if possible).

The sandstorm rages for 8/10/12 seconds.

Cooldown: 110/90/70 Range: 1500x1500/2000x2000/2500x2500

Thoughts on Harenis: Harenis is of the Shurima Desert, a wanderer. I haven’t put any thoughts into his lore, but I feel as if the archetype of champions from the Shurima Desert definitely needs to be filled out. As for his playstyle I’d like him to be a sort of anti-assassin with a strong ability to either disengage or initiate a team fight. With the current meta heavily biased toward assassin type champions I feel like Harenis with his ultimate would be a great counterplay to them.

Thoughts on his Resource: Out of any available resource currently in the game I would make Harenis a mana based champion. Although I thought it would be interesting to make a sort of “sands of time” type resource that is always running out similar to Tryndamere’s fury. I’m not sure how it would work though.

Thoughts on his role: I believe with his kit he would be best suited for top/mid lane, with a strong second role as a jungler. He may even find his place as a sudo support champion because of his E ability, ultimate and strong base stats.

And that's pretty much it feel free to leave any comments/thoughts/ideas you have below! Also I put a poll in to see what people think about the balance of the kit so far.

There should be a desert wanderer's club

The ultimates are practically the same except mine is permanent, so I find it hard to say I dislike the idea :P

A few questions though:

  • For the E is that a total 40% bonus AD ratio?

  • Can I have lore? Just a quick synopsis maybe?

  • Wouldn't a circle be better? What's your thoughts on a square for the ultimate?

Nice concept!

Overall, I did enjoy reading about your champion concept, but I fill that Harenis's kit still needs to be tweaked.

  1. The active part of the ultimate seems a little to strong. There seems to be no sense of counter play while people are in the sandstorm.

  2. I think it would be a better idea to change his Sand Blast into a blind, rather than a knock back; also have it changed into magic damage.

  3. There has to be another way to put the passive's debuff on enemy champions. From what I have read, it seems only Assimilate and Sand Blast are the only ways to apply the aforementioned. The long cooldowns, in the early stages of a game, make it difficult to do anything.

Again amazing concept, and I also like the picture.

The champion is original enough to make me want to play him. But the mechanics themselves err on the high end spectrum. Give me some feedback on my Champion idea if you can.

Why does the debuff have a max of 20 stacks if it's applied in bursts of 5-10-20s and his passive and Q use per 5 stacks mechanics? Why not make it 1-2-4 with a max of 4?

Kit seems interesting, but his damage values are very low. TBH his passive, E and R feel very tank-like and, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that's what you want him to be.

When I first read this, I thought he had a lot in common with other champs, and he seemed like a bit of a copycat, unsure of exactly who to be.

That being said, I've grown to love the concept and think the lore from below in the comments is a really interesting idea.

Good luck to you! :)

Make every stack more meaningful, but reduce the max stacks by a large margin. League is a hit and run, it's not very likely that you will get to stack up that many Vessel of the Sand marks, and Riot doesn't like to leave debuffs on people for infinite time. Anyways, if not, it's fine like this. He looks like a frontal bruiser teamfighter, and it's interesting how the sandstorm works. It would be nice to have this champion in the game. Great job!

I want this guy to be in LOL, but Rito does not like generic character models. I love it, and the ability ideas are cool, but RIto may think the design is too generic. cough cough Ezreal
