Item concept : Coat of the channeler (armor, ap, cdr, mana, mana sustain)

Actually there is 3 armor ap item item in the summoner rift : Seeker's Armguarditem 3191 , Zhonya's Hourglassitem 3157 , and Zeke's Harbingeritem 3050: -Zeke's Harbinger is a terrible first item choice for a solo laner since the stats are medium and you can't use the passive -Zhonya's Hourglass cost and build path make it harder to rush and mage with mana issue will have tough time in the lane -Seeker's Armguard is a good item but can only be built into zhonya and some mage don't synergise well with zhonya

So i imagine a starter item to soften the early game versus AD opponents.

Coat of the channeler :

  • 60 ability power
  • 30 armor
  • 250 mana
  • 20% cooldown reduction
  • Unique passive, Mana channeling : when your abilities hit an enemy/ally restore 7% of your mana max (20 sec cd)
  • Unique passive, Mana excess : -when you have more than 75 % of your mana, half the mana regen (both from base regen and passive) is transfer to a shield (10-180 max hp). -when you are under 75% of you mana pool, the shield will dissapear after 25 sec

build : item 3024Glacial Shroud + item 3108Fiendish codex + item 1052 Amplifying tome + 615 gold total cost : 2850 golds stats value : 3005 gold efficiency : 105 %

So, the build path is really smooth only the final upgrade cost more than 500. The player will have to sacrifice a bit of ap to get the defensive/utility stats (compare to Morellonomicon). The passive shield is only efficient is you play defensively since you won't keep it if you spam spell.

Note : all number are just to get an idea of what the item would be, some if them may need some balance in order to make it fair/viable

Thank you for taking the time to read it, hope you liked it

Have a nice day.

Yeah it looks really overloaded. It would also need to be nerfed several patches afterward due to pro play where they heavily conserve their mana and could skew the meta towards mages with better innate mana regen.

Riot mentioned that they are trying to split up mana and mana regen in the MYMU so lets see how that turns out.

So basically a grail that is better suited for the meta. Good luck convincing riot
