[Champion Concept] Arador, The Ionian Ranger.
Arador
This is my first time doing something like this, so take everything with a grain of salt. I've always wanted a more Ranger-esque character. Like Aragorn from LOTR. Utilizing both a bow and a sword.
Arador is an AD immobile ranged/mobile melee bruiser like champ. His ranged form is limited by his resource. His melee form is only gated by CDs.
Passive:
Resource: Arrows- Uses an ammo system. Bow abilities and AA's cost "Arrows". When Arrows are depleted, Hawk (I don't got a name for it :/) fetches more Arrows (unsure on CD for this.). Holds 24 Arrows. During the time Hawk is away, Arador is forced into Sword form, and cannot switch to bow form until Hawk comes back. Sword abilities are resource-less.
Bow- Ace shot. Every second auto shreds a small % of Armor. Short window of time that is based on AS. Think Gnar or Vayne. But two procs. The idea behind this is like Robin Hood's target shot, where he hit's the Arrow dead center. Pushing the first arrow deeper kind of thing.
Sword- Auto Attacks deal damage in a small cone in front of Arador. I'm thinking an AOE AA like Chogath's spike things. But with a sweeping motion with his sword that cuts multiple enemies in front of him.
Q:
Bow- Cooldown: 3 seconds. Cost 0 [insertbownamehere] Activating swaps to Sword. Increased Move Speed for X seconds.
Sword- Cooldown: 3 seconds. Cost 0 [insertswordnamehere] Activating swaps to Bow. Increased AS for X Seconds. Unavailable when Hawk is fetching arrows.
W:
Bow- Cooldown: 10 seconds. Cost: 2 Arrows. [insertnamehere] Hawk jumps on target champion marking them for X seconds, decreasing target movespeed, and increasing damage dealt to target by Arador.
Sword- Cooldown: 20,18,16,13,10 seconds. Cost: 0. [insertnamehere] 2 Ethereal wolves appear at Rangers sides. They shoot out, targeted like Heimerdinger's W, in an X pattern. If a wolf hits a Champion it disappears, marking the target with a slow. If a target is hit by both wolves, target is stunned for X seconds. Stunning a target resets Sword E's cooldown.
E:
Bow- Cooldown: 8,7,6,5,4. Cost: 4 Arrows. [insertnamehere] Long range skill shot that deals damage. Procs Ace Shot. If it procs Ace Shot, it passes through to the next enemy. Does % max health to targets marked by Hawk.
Sword- Cooldown: 16,14,12,10,8. Cost: 0 [Insertnamehere] Sweeping attack. Skillshot dash attack. Think Marth.. or Roy.. or whoever from Smash with the B attack. If hitting a target marked with Bow W, gain increased attack speed for X seconds. Enemies within the trail between the start and end point are slightly knocked back. Think Draven E.
R:
Bow- Cooldown: 100 seconds. Cost: Remaining Arrows in resource pool. [Burning Fields].Fires a Volley of flaming arrows. Ground targeted skillshot, think Anivia Wall like indicator, with a rumble ulti effect. Area Size is determined by the amount of Arrows used to cast. Deals flat initial damage and marks all hit targets with Bow W. Leaves behind a burning area that slows marked targets for X seconds.
Sword- Cooldown 150 (200?) seconds. Cost 0 [insertnamehere]- For X seconds, or up to a cap of X hits (thinking like 5), Ranger parries damage from all sources (AOE or single target). Does not Block CC. After this procs, Arador has increased Armor and Magic Resist for X seconds.
In Lane.
Bow-W to mark. Auto, E. For burst trading in lane.
In bow form, W, Q, E, W, Auto. Marks target, swaps to Sword, stuns or slows target, and dash for all in and procing Bow W.
Teamfights.
Save your arrows for Burning fields to maximize ulti effectiveness. Drop R when teamfight starts, marking all targets within. From there, Either E if a good shot presents itself, or swap to Sword and dash in. Using your Sword R to gain invulnerabilty as you attack anything you can.
Facing Arador.
Play around his Arrow useage. He has to auto to farm, which will deplete his Arrows after 4 waves, this is if he only last hits and doesn't trade. Force him to trade in Bow form to put him into Sword form early. In sword form he is a good duelist if he can land his W. Without it, he's very kiteable. Giving you good trade in lane. Beware of his all in potential when forcing his arrow useage, though.
In teamfights, when Ranger uses Burning fields, he's forced into Sword form. Save your CC for his dive in (He's the only one that can proc the W effect on his Ulti.). Focus the rest of the team while he's CC'd. By the time the CC is up (depending on the CC) his sword form ulti should be proc'd and he'll be available for damage.
Obviously Cooldowns, damages, and things like that are unbalanced. I'm not a part of the Riot Games balance team or nothing. But this is just an idea that came to mind today, and I started jotting stuff down. Hope you enjoy, and would appreciate feedback :)
