This is my champion concept for a melee mid assassin

History and Aesthetics

Lore: When Hadrian was a child he lived with his father. His father was a powerful sorcerer and they always traveled together so his father could strengthen his skills. He loved his son hadrian,. When Hadrian was 15, his father decided to visit the shadow isles, as he had heard it was a place of great beauty and power. However when they arrived, they discovered that the king of the shadow isles was trying to break the barrier between life and death. Hadrians father pleaded to the king that this was too dangerous, but he did not listen. When the seal was broken, a dark energy was released, which instantly killed everybody nearby, including hadrian's father. Before he died, hadrian's father managed to cast a spell on hadrian,so although his body was destroyed, his soul was cast into the shadows from the dark energy. From the shadows of the isles, all Hadrian could do was watch. He watched as the undead rose and took over the shadow isles. He hated the undead, and all of the residents in the shadow isles. During his time in the shadows, he realized he could use them to his advantage, travel faster, manipulate them, absorb them. So he patiently waited for ten years, then finally a boat came to the shadow isles. It was a ship sent to investigate the isles. He knew that none of the people on board could stand up to the undead so once they had all been run out of the isles, or killed, he searched. He came across a straggler begging for his life infront of thresh, who was impatiently waiting to take his soul. Hadrian saw this as his chance, and approached with the help of the shadows he used them to surround his soul, to talk to the chain warden. He made a deal, that when thresh took the man's soul, he could have the body. Thresh agreed, and took the man's soul. Hadrian then engulfed the body in shadows, and took it over.Thresh was astounded by this power, and attempted to take his soul too. They had a great battle, but realizing that he was no match for thresh, hadrian fled into the shadows. He followed maokai's lead and jumped into the ocean to return to runeterra. When he arrived he decided that he would fight against the undead and those that cursed the shadow isles.

Appearance/ Personality: Hadrian has log black hair, and werars a black cloak, which waves with shadows at the bottom. he carries a black blade, and has shadows manipulating around one hand. When he ults he grows large black wigs, and has a black hood on.

Game play

Playstyle: Hadrian is a melee assassin, who can play in mid lane or the jungle. He scales off of AD and some magic damage. He uses mana. He relies on the mark from his passive to add effects to his abilities. He has no cc except on marked targets.

Base stats:

HP: 440(+81) HP regen: 4(+1) Mana: 245 (+60) Mana Regen: 5 (+0.5) AD: 45(+4) Attack speed: 0.66 (+3.3%) Armor: 20 (+3) MR: 26 (+1) Move speed: 350 Range: 150

Abilities

Passive: Shade- after hitting an ability or using item actives on a champion, Hadrian get a stack of shade. When he has 3 stacks, Hadrian's next basic attack marks an opponent with shade. this mark is consumed when an opponent is hit with an ability, and it adds an addition effect to that ability. the mark lasts for 20 seconds. Marks can be applied through on hit effects

Q: Strangler- Hadrian sends out a shadow along the ground in a line that passes under minions, if this ability hits an enemy champion, it deals 70/100/130/160/190 (+50% bonus ad)(+45% bonus ap). If this ability is used on a champion who is marked by shade, it suspends them in midair for 0.25/0.5/0.75/1/1.25 seconds. 60/65/70/75/80 mana 6/5.5/5/4.5/4 second cooldown 900 range

Explanation: This ability is your every day average poke skill, with a low cooldown it allows him to harass in lane even though he's melee and if he can hit his skillshots, it allows him to easily stack towards his passive. The suspension is great, because as of right now only 2 champions can suspend people, nami and yasuo. The suspension is great because it allows him to either have time to get into melee range, or position himself to hit his w ability.

W: Shadow walk- Hadrian can use this ability to move in four directions, either directly forward, backward, left or right. while he is moving in target direction he turns into shadows, and cannot be targeted. If he passes through enemy champions they take 80/110/140/170/200 (+20% ap) If the enemies he passes through are rooted by shadows for by 0.5/1/1.5/2/2.5 seconds. he can also pass through terrain. 100 mana 20/18/16//14/12 second cooldown 500 range

Explanation: This is essentially his gap closer, it allows him to get into melee range. It is difficut to pull off, however, as positioning is key, and if you're not positioned right you may miss, or end up not hopping the wall you were hoping to get over. it's high mana cost and long coolown make it so players really watch their positioning before using this ability.

E: Shadow Blade- Hadrian extends his shadow blade, increasing his auto attack range to 200, and his basic attacks deal 50/70/90/110/130 (+40% ad) extra damage for 3/4/5/6/7 seconds. if he has shadow blade active, and attacks somebody with a shade mark, they are slowed by 30% for 1/1.5/2/2.5/3 seconds (only every third aa on an enemy can count towards stacking for his passive) 80/75/70/65/60 mana 10/11.5/13/13.5/15 second cooldown

Explanation: Since hadrian's abilities don't do much damage compared to other similar abilities, he relies on auto attacks to deal the majority of his damage. So it makes sense that he should have an ability to strengthen his main damage source. plus this ability gives him an easy way to stack his passive.

R: Shadow rise- after a 2 second channel time, hadrian takes on a pure shadow form, growing wings and taking flight. He is untargateable while in the air, and can move. the only thing visible of him is a shadow of him on the ground. While in the air he gains 50/75/100 increased movement speed. he can stay in the air for 5 seconds. When he is in the air, he can activate his ult again to engulf an enemy in a 600 range. the targeted enemy is suppressed for 2 seconds hadrian comes crashing down onto them dealing 100/300/500 true damage to target champion. Any enemies around the target take 20/40/60 (+20% ap) magic damage. If the target is marked by shade, hadrian steals 5% of their maximum health, if anybody around the target is marked they are feared for 1/2/3 seconds. hadrian gets 2 stacks of shade after using this ability. 135 mana 150/130/110 second cooldown

Explanation: a badass ult for a badass champ

**Recommendations and matchups **

Items: item 3153 : He gains lifesteal and attack speed, plus it's active can help him stack shade

item 3006 item 3117 : either is a good choice, mobility can help him get to lane to assassinate champs, while bg gives him attack speed, helping him get more hits in with his E

item 3508 : can help him with his mana use, plus the cdr allows him to use his abilities more often to stack his passive

item 3146: lifesteal and spellvamp, plus ad and ap for his q,w and r. The active can help his passive

item 3074: Lifesteal, plus the passive allows him to mark multiple targets at once, active can help with stacking passive

item 3087: Crit chance and attack speed for his e, passive allows him to mark multiple champions at once

item 3142: Crit chance and armor pen for assassinating, plus active can help him stay in aa range

item 3046 : crit chance and attack speed

item 3031: self explanatory

item 3022: help him stay in aa range of enemy

item 3025: Sheen passive, plus can mark more than one target at once

item 3026 item 3102: basic late game defensive items

item 3143: Not used on many assassins, but the active can help with stacking his passive

Lane Matchups G: Hadrian is strong against champ B: hadrian is weak against champ

BAhri: Can be difficult to deal with, has alot of poke, and her mobility can make it hard to hit abilities, making it difficult to stack passive, her charm can cancel his ult channel BAkali: also hard to deal with, as her invisibility makes it impossible to aa her, lowering Hadrian's dps GAnivia: Has no real escape, so it can be hard for her to shake off Hadrian, plus his beefy aa can cut through her passive egg Annie: No real escape, but she has alot of poke, plus an armor buff. Evenly matched GBrand: No mobility or escape, and hadrian can easily dodge his abilities. Cassiopeia: Her harass can shred him early game, but late game he can easily dodge her abilities and a well timed w can dodge her ult GDiana: Diana relies on keeping her enemies close to her, but against hadrian it allows him to stay in aa range and dish out loads of damage BFizz: Fizz's mobility can make it hard for hadrian to deal with him, preventing him from gaining stacks, and his ability to easily get out of aa range makes this a difficult matchup BHeimerdinger: Hadrian being melee ranged can make it difficult for him to take out his turrets, plus his e can cancel his ult channel GKarthus: No real escape and poor mobility make karthus an easy matchup as you can stack your passive, then get in aa range with w for the kill BKassadin: Ult. That is all BKatarina: High mobility and dps at melee range makes it tough to deal with katarina Leblanc: her w can make it difficult to land abilities, however your w can counter her q and e and she has no way to stop the channel on your ult BLissandra: She can be difficult to deal with because when you finally do get in aa range she can root you, or stun you. She can cancel your ult channel BMalzahar; His silence and suppression can make it difficult to deal with him in lane Orianna: Dodge ball Swain: Ult make being in aa range dangerous Syndra: see oriana BTalon: invisibility and mobility BTeemo: Blind, shrooms and generic satanic stuff BTwistedFate: Stun to cancel ult, and long range GVeigar: No escape and ult is worthless on you Velkoz: No escape, but his knockup can stop your ult GViktor: No escape and stun takes to long to stop his ult Xerath : See syndra GYasuo: His wall is useless except for your q, and you can easily dodge his tornadoes Zed: His mobility can make it hard to deal with but you can escape his deathmark by using w or ult GZiggs Easily dodge his bombs, once in melee range, hard for him to get Hadrian off

Doom Mode If Hadrian were to become a doom bot.... -Every auto attack would mark an enemy with shade -His q would go in 4 directions at once -His w would animate and do damage in all 4 directions but he would only appear in 1 spot -He would gain 300 range and 50% attack speed with his e -His ult would have 3x the range, and deal the true damage to everybody in the area

i really like it but that ult is definitely over powered

maybe make it where ranged can attack him in the air but at 75 percent of their max auto range (due to gravity)

and riot won't like the massive true damage i'm afraid :(

all in all tho good luuuccckkk i like it

Really cool. And I like how the obligatory Zed comparition is the very last special interaction. x) Kudos

Two quick comments:

His E steroids seems waaaaay too strong. At max rank, and with 15CDR (easy to achieve via boots, or a few mastery points, and a single item such as E.R. means he can be doing 130 (+65% AD) extra damage on every autoattack ever due to the cooldown of the spell ending up being shorter than the duration of the the buff.

Also 500 (20% AD) TRUE damage? That is entirely too much true damage to be dealt at once. maybe make it magic damage that scales off of AD so it can bypass armor if they are building that to try and counter people building armor against him? But then you've thrown in all these weird AP rations as if you want him to be hybrid.

At least have that 500 be scaling so that as soon as you hit level six you don't insta gib squishes no matter what.

Also: How the heck would your targeting system for your W work, considering the fact that turn speed is not a thing which exists in LoL?
