Bob, the lawkeeper

For obvious reasons I don't think this champ will be made because obviously Riot pays people to spend all day making champs and come up with ideas and I'm just a fan with a little free time. With that I'd love to see some of the community reactions to my thoughts. Who knows, maybe a riot employee might be able to come up with some improvements they apply to a champ in the future thanks to my musings. Just please dear deity/deities don't call it Bob.

I'd like to start with how I came up with the concept. There's a couple of things that bothers me currently about some of the established metagame in bot. For one thing ad casters are very limited. While I'm okay with the idea that you need an auto attack champion for fast heavy pushing on every team, I couldn't help but wonder if there was a way to combine a caster with the role of ADC. Don't get me wrong, Ezreal Ezreal and Corki Corki are definitely more cast oriented champions, but I want to see an actual champion who fights like a Pantheon Pantheon but pushes like a Jinx Jinx. Obviously not this extreme as this would be a bit overpowering, but I wanted a balanced idea that implemented this.

So without further ado... I'll state now that I do have a story concept for this champion(I chose lawkeeper of zaun as a base to keep him unique from other champs while showing the darker parallels between piltover and zaun), but I figured that was less important and obviously I can't tell a story about a man named Bob. Ahem... WITHOUT FURTHER ADOODOO!

Health 551>1979 Energy 200 Movement Speed 335 Attack Speed 0.651 Attack Range 500 Energy Regen 50 Health Regen 5.9>15.6 Armor 25.5>80.0 Magick Resist 30 Attack Damage 48.4 +3.8

Boring stats. Don't ask why, I just like numbers. They're pretty. They spell out certain strengths and weaknesses without even looking at abilities. I can use them to unravel the mysteries of the world. Not these numbers though. They're just boring stats.

Passive- Brutality- All ablities apply on hit effects and apply 20% of current lifesteal. When energy hits below 10 or an ability is activated while under 50 energy auto attacks will be replaced with an aoe skill shot(90%ad) with 50% armor penetration and range will be modified to 400 and energy regeneration will be reduced to 0. In addition the skill shot will not interrupt previous orders. Abilities can not be activated until energy is restored to 200. Each enemy unit hit will restore 10 energy. Uses: Brutality's activation makes for a great chasing tool after an engage as well as helping fight multiple enemies at once. Careful energy management is needed though thanks to Bob's high costs from his abilities and the reduced range gained from its activation. It should be noticed that improprer activation is easy to punish so opponents should look for oppurtunities to bait out its activation. Notes: The skill shots fire instantly after the attack animation, but if the opponent is walking perpendicular to the champion it is possible to dodge the attack. Building health helps prevent more damage than armor thanks to the armor penetration, barring whatever on hit effects may have been built.

Q- Corruption- costs 50 energy cooldown 16 seconds 60/100/140/180/220 (50%ad)- Slows attack speed by 10/13/16/19/22% for 2 seconds for all enemy champions hit. range 400. Throws a gas canister that explodes outward in a 60 degree cone an additional 200 range. Uses: The attack speed slow helps win all ins by reducing enemy damage. This is also the only poking tool for behind minions in Bob's arsenal despite its limited range. Notes: Iceborn Gauntlet and Frozen Mallet are both strong items to maximize its crowd control element. In addition this gives Corruption the power to be used as a disengage as well. Only the first champion hit by the cone will be hit with the sheen proc however.

W- Ultimate Peace- costs 50 energy cooldown 12/11/10/9/8 seconds Throws a grenade at a target up to 300 units away. Has a 150 blast radius. deals 75/135/195/255/315 (50% AD) physical damage. Uses: Is the most powerful clearing ability in his arsenal, and has a low enough cooldown that it can be used more liberally. Its limited range lowers its potential, but can be used to provide a surprising amount of burst damage on an opponent when combined with Detention. Notes: This attack resets the autoattack timer allowing an incredible burst of damage. Its limited range though makes it most useful during yours or opposing all ins as otherwise Bob's approach or retreat can be punished with most ranged basic attacks. Static Shiv maximizes its clearing and burst potential as well as any sheen item increasing its single target damage by an incredible amount.

E- Detention- costs 50 energy cooldown 18 seconds range 600/800/1000/1200/1400 Launches a chain and hook skillshot from a device on his wrist. Hitting a target tethers him for 5 seconds and will reduce their damage by 10%. Can be reactivated even during brutality to drag himself to the target. If the target dies as Detention hits it will continue along its path until maximum range or another viable target is leashed. Tether is broken if its range is exceeded. Uses: Serves as both an escape and engage, he can tether a champion to pull himself in for his attacks. In addition items like Static Shiv can catch opponents off guard by breaking through their minion line (His Detention procs static shiv killing the minion and continues to travel to the next available target) to still tether on to them. He can also tether a minion as he is engaging or fighting to pull himself back out of the fight allowing some higher risked gameplay otherwise not available to him. Notes: The range provides an incredibly long range poke at max rank when combined with on hit effects. In addition a tether on a backline minion can make opposing carries nervous to grab farm in fear of you using the opportunity to burst them down. In return the lengthy cooldown means using these other methods can limit your options if their allies show up. His tether can be interrupted by most CC, including his ult

R- Excessive Force- costs 150 energy cooldown 180/165/150 seconds Roots himself down after jamming his rifle into the ground and jumping on it to release 10/20/30 bombs that deal 10/20/30 physical damage. He throws 10 bombs a second and will auto target the closest champion to him. If two champions are tied he'll target the healthier of the two. Range 400 units with a cone of 150 degrees in front of him. Each bomb has a radius of 50. Uses: This ult scales very powerfully into the late game but is considerably weaker mid game. Thanks to its high cost and lengthy cooldown players will need to decide early in the fight whether to use it immediately or depend on Brutality later on to bring it up when they need it. Luckily its cost allows Brutality to activate during its duration greatly increasing its damage. Notes: All hard CC breaks his ult. Even roots, after all how would he stand on his rifle like that? On hit effect items greatly increase his damage. A good combination includes Wit's End and Black Cleaver to shred defenses for the whole team and drastically increase damage. High mobility champions, CC abilities, and Flash can all be used to dodge or stop his ult however. Dodging is especially useful as his self root prevents him from canceling his ult, though Brutality will still target you.

Recommended Builds: A very flexible champion thanks to his passive, he can play in any lane with relative success. His limited range may hurt him bot, but can be an asset in top and his relative scaling can allow him to match well with certain mid champions. Raw AD may scale well off his abilities, but on hit effects reap more bang for your buck. In bot lane rushing a item 3153 Blade of the Ruined King will provide sustain and help his abilities. item 3093 Avarice Blade can be built into item 3087 Statikk Shiv for better clear and poke power. In addition each bomb from his ult builds stacks allowing a large amount of magic damage to be dealt in a short amount of time, helping with his weaker mid game. Hybrid builds with item 3115 Nashor's Tooth and item 3091 Wit's End scale high on his ult, but hurt his physical damage as a result. Top lane paths can use item 3025 Iceborn Gauntle, item 3022 Frozen Mallet, item 3091 Wit's End, and item 3071 Black Cleaver in different combinations to increase damage that can be taken and shred the opposing frontline's mobility, armor, and magic resist allowing your true carries to clean up afterwards. You won't be a true tank, but will be a very effective fighter who can follow up any strong engage. In mid it is possible to build an ap build around item 3091 Wit's End, item 3115 Nashor's Tooth, and item 3087 Statkk Shiv. This works on teams that have limited options for stopping his ult as the explosive power of having their magic resist lowered and hit with thousands of magic damage all in one move is devastating for most champions. This option is limited by his range, though shorter range champions like kassadin will struggle, and his AD builds may still be viable in these situations. In addition his long cooldowns makes this build work like a musket. Ever try reloading one of those? It takes forever, trust me.

Gameplay: Early game passive farming is your best bet. Short starting ranges on Detention make engaging difficult and most opposing laners will outrange you. With that said he performs well with either passive supports or strong engagers that can give him time to close in. Lifesteal can help you sustain in lane longer and farm, but Static Shiv allows a decent leap in power at level 6 allowing you to make much higher risked plays. Either way most opponents will still outdamage you in a lot of trade offs until mid or late game, so farming is the main focus. Corruption and Detention reduce damage significantly and can allow you to trade off better for aggressive lanes. Once some on hit effects are built damage starts to sky rocket on his ult. Look for skirmishes around dragon pit to try and grab some kills. Remember to save your ult for multiple opponents to maximize its aoe potential. While split pushing is always an option many assassins will make it difficult to ult and burst down with their mobilities. Make sure areas are well warded when pushing. Sheen procs allow you to effectively damage turrets and Detention at warded jungle camps can allow you to escape without accidentally finding more enemies. Late game is when he truly starts to excel, especially with teammates. His limited range forces him to the frontline, but if he follows a strong engage he can melt even tanks when they get caught out. In addition by sticking to your tanks it makes it more difficult for assassins to take you out.

Works well with: Morgana Morgana- Morgana is able to hold opponents down for his ult solving one of his weaknesses while rooted. In addition her spellshield makes disrupting him very hard in that state forcing opponents to dodge over disrupting. Braum Braum- His wall helps his ult channel. In addition his abilities proc his passive allowing him to rapidly follow up Braum's engage with a hard stun. Katarina Katarina- With some of the highest damage ults in the game, it allows both champions to more swiftly kill opponents before they can respond. In addition it makes peeling the damage significantly harder as both channels must be interrupted.

Viable counters: Draven Draaaaaven- Draven Draven's strong early start combined with Draven Draven's outranging leads to a very hard lane against Draven Draven. Draven Draven's also one of the few carries who can instantly interrupt your ult thanks to Draven Draven's Stand Aside. After all, no one but Draven Draven is the center of attention. To make matters worse Draven Draven's natural build makes Draven Draven split push harder. I'm saying Draven Draven too much? Draven Draven would disagree. Nautilus Nautilus- His point and click ult makes hiding behind tanks ineffective especially considering how close Bob has to stick to them. In addition even his passive disrupts Excessive Force making him very effective at counter engaging. Leona Leona- CC to break your ult and ranged engages that compete with your attacks makes it easy for her to zone Bob out from creeps. If for some ungodly reason she combines forces with the two above you may as well go afk. You'll still be reported but trust me, you are not going to be having fun anyways.

Couple of finer points. Why did I choose energy? Two reasons. Energy provides an interesting mechanic and I actually like what it brings to the table. Next I figured it was better than giving him no resources allowing him to spam endlessly while also saving him from the pitfall of having to find a way to sustain his energy to maintain his attacks which in my opinion is partially why a pure AD caster down bot is so hard to put there. Next is why not make his auto attacks skill shots always? I'm concerned this will make him utterly useless in high tier play thanks to a high mobility metagame. A skill shot auto attack should be dodge-able, and if I just make it so in between targets get damaged makes for a very strong early pushing tool that can be hard to counter. Furthermore I like the idea of him having to manage his energy carefully to avoid becoming useless and once again addresses the super spamming of abilities. Improper management leaves you quite vulnerable for several seconds, where proper application can secure you a kill.

TOO LONG DIDN'T READ!? Well neither did I! I wrote it and am too lazy to go back and consolidate... ... ... Uh let's see passive makes him manage energy switching his autoattacks to shorter ranged skillshots at low energy but have better chase potential. Q is an auto attack slow. W is burst. E is an amumu grab without CC and a Thresh like delay. Ult is a semi targeted shorter range Miss Fortune ult? Yep, totally did justice to this character I put way too much effort into.

Let's see, um questions on things being unclear. Anything that seems alarmingly strong or weak? Items that would work that I missed?

AN ACTUAL NAME!? Honestly any ideas you guys have I'll listen. Oh and if someone comes up with a cool concept art I'll take it. Doubt anyone that cares will read through this, or maybe they will cause they do care, I dunno. I picture him human... with a rifle, and you know zaun technology. Oh if you guys ever actually want a story he needs red eyes. That's important I swear.
