Fixing Azir...

So after alot of nerfs recently Azir has become one of the champions with the lowest winratio in game. And i think they are nerfing him the wrong way as i also heard they might as well give him a rework with two opptions. Either they remove the Shurima shuffle, or they increase his hp and reduce his range. For me both of this opptions are terrible. So i got two other opptions: You give azir back everything he lost in the recent nerfs. (Give him back his vision on his soliders, do so he can w towers again and give him back his duration on his ult.) Then you lower his dmg. Or you can give him everything back, and reduce his attack speed and remove the slow from his soliders. I really need to hear your guys oppinions on this, as well as i hope someone from riot read this. If you guys have some other suggestions let me hear about them.

The problem with Azir is that he has a super high skill cap partially because his kit is so overloaded with tools. Knowing when to slide in with his soldiers and provide a well-timed ult etc. The problem with Azir is with the EXTREME amount of tools this champion has that they can't up the base line without him being utterly broken. Even with the second lowest win rate in the game, he is still played in the mid lane by pros as a competitive pick, which shows the problem with the champion. Low elo have no idea how to use him while a great azir is almost untouchable. A champion who zones and destroys melee in lane during his WEAKEST phase of the game is unacceptable. He has very good sustained dps with his soldiers as well as huge aoe burst when thrusting his soldiers in his ult. The knockback/zone on the ult is a huge team fight changing ult. Meanwhile, he has mobility whose gap close/open distance easily matches or exceeds some assassins (talon, fizz for some examples). And when he does gap close in, he gets a shield upon hitting you. He also has extreme ability to siege, while some champions meanwhile have none. The soldiers sit and zone for a long period of time with long range poke. And he can erect a turret for safety as well.

In order for this champion to be more balanced, they can buff some parts of his kit while removing others such as upping his cds and lowering his gap open/close range and soldiers hit range. There is no other way to fix him without removing some tools.

They absolutely need to remove tools. People are always such babies about losing tools and want every single thing in the game. He absolutely has to lose some tools and have some weak points in the game. he can't have such an impressive late game while being one of the safest laners and extremely oppressive against melee champs DURING HIS SUPPOSEDLY weakest phase. He can get buffs after he loses some tools or weaken his early game. The way this champ is designed is there is no way to actually make him a competitive pick to the masses without making him extremely broken to higher players. For one there is very little reason for him to have as much mobility with his soldiers as he does. The shurima shuffle makes the least sense with his kit and should be nerfed to a lower range. Soldiers hit range should be nerfed to allow less oppressiveness in lane against anything but a long range champion. It is EXTREMELY oppressive how it is.

A jack of all trades champion should be inherently weak due to having everything available to him and being so versatile. When they open him up to some actual weaknesses they can start adding power back to other parts that make more sense and allow for better gameplay such as allowing for his soldiers to auto attack champions on their own. (which would boost his floor considerably). For example, Fizz has no range and thus can't contribute in a siege unless it's a dive. He has poor wave clear and no sustain and thus is almost useless when fighting around turrets. He can get zoned in lane by long range champions that know how to play. That is actual weakness. Azir needs more. Other champions similiar to him, like Leblanc are getting reworks.

Lol if it were to be as you put it, terrible wouldn't even be an opinion, it'd be a fact. What GypsyLord actually said was:

"We either support his ranged hyper-carrying by removing Shurima Shuffle (Can't cast Q while dashing). Or we support Shurima Shuffle by giving him a significant range nerf and increased tankiness/other things (make him a mid-range battle mage)."

This is pure speculation on my part, but maybe if he were to be mid ranged he'd be able to have his ult duration increased and perhaps even get his knock up back on his E.

I just don't think it's a good idea for them to take away the Shurima shuffle, it's the most interesting thing about him, always has been that's why Riot kept it even though it was a bug.
