A Paladin for LoL?

The Paladin/Templar archetype has always been my favorite and unfortunally I couldn't find it in League of Legends.

Now don't get me wrong. I do know that there is plenty of paladinish character around. Kayle is the angelic warrior, Leona is the stalwart defender, Garen the warrior of justice and Taric is going to be reworked to emphasize his tank/healing way of the Paladin.

What seems to be amiss though is the proper Templar, a holy warrior who infuses his blade in holy energy and charges on without fear supporting his comrades in battle. I wish a Rioter would tell us if there is space for such a character in LoL and/or if there is a work in progress in that direction.

I believe the reason why we don't have such a thing is, Riot wants to avoid that, and not be a generic fantasy game with generic fantasy characters. They want to a bit more original in their champions, so far I like to believe they have done that, just look at Kindred, death in the form of a wolf and lamb? damn son.

Alright, jumping off of my earlier trollish post.

A Templar oriented champion (I think of Warhammer when I say that...) Would be a nice addition to League. And offensive leaning champion that brings a bit of utility. And no, Kalista's ult is NOT utility. Kindred's might be.
