Why does Ezreal have a crossbow whenever he fires his Q and R?

For all intents and purposes, archaeologists are glorified grave robbers in a way. Their actions both involve opening up someone's tomb and take things from it.

However, it isn't to say there aren't a difference between the 2. The difference between an archaeologist and a grave robber lies in the intent of their grave-robbing. Archaeologists treats the graves they opened up with protective care to reduce damage to its minimum, with intent in uncovering history; grave robbers are often extremely brutal in their methods which results in destroyed historical sites and important artifacts, and their main objective is to just find valuable to sell (or equivalent that grants only personal gains).

Another way to distinguish the difference is that: Archaeologists can do a huge number of things that don't involve with going into someone's tomb so long it is about history which is the main objective of archaeologists, while grave robbers only exclusively work within the said tomb and is only ever concerned about what they can sell/gain inside it.

This is not me saying that archaeology is one the same same to grave robbing since as we've established, they're very much different by nature of intent. Just that they do have certain overlaps without looking at the context.

Since Ezreal's bio involves numerous descriptions such as "raid" and "treasure seeking", and the fact Ezreal is rarely if ever bothered with the history side of things and is only interested in entering ruins to loot and spread his fame as an "adventurer", it can be safely assumed that Ezreal is more on the side of a grave robber. Or at its best, we could call him a treasure hunter (which is basically just a euphemism) and maybe an explorer, but definitely not an archeologist (even if he thinks he is).

Actually not necessarily true. A small snippet from his biography:

Ezreal actually is able to use magic by himself. He just isn't aware of it yet and didn't train it, but he has own, inherent magic. As far as I am aware of, we don't know how much of his magical abilities actually come from the gauntlet and what from himself. It is possible that while the projectiles for sure are generated from the gauntlet, the ability to teleport short distances could be Ezreals own magic which he started to use unconciously, making the gauntlet just have some kind of placebo effect in this case.

"unknowingly gifted in the magical arts" can be any number of things related to the concept of magic. It can suggest that Ezreal is a latent magic user, or it could very well just mean that Ezreal is naturally good at understanding them.

In his expanded biography, it's never mentioned that his education involved any magecraft but rather "hextech mechanism" was as close to magic as it gets. And most of his bios is spent telling us how he's naturally good at absorbing and applying information, and less about being able to cast magic himself.

Maybe Ezreal is a spell caster that he isn't aware of or something. However what's a more reasonable to conclude at the moment is that he's probably a good magic tool user, owing to his knowledge of hextech and his gift of learning and applying things almost instantly as soon as he gets into contact with them, which is also what allowed Ezreal to be able to use the gauntlet immediately upon first impression.

EDIT: The ability to teleport is a part of the gauntlet. That is very clear. Because the gauntlet once belonged to a Shuriman Emperor who was said to be able to teleport. And since Ezreal teleported for the very first time after picking up that gauntlet in the tomb of the Shuriman Emperor, it can be safely assumed that it is simply the gauntlet's power at work as it is the only common factor between the said Emperor and Ezreal.
