Aatrox, the Avatar of War
So this is my suggested rework for everyone's favorite champion that they don't remember. I didn't put any cooldowns, ability costs or base stats because I'm tired right now, I'll add them tomorrow. Everything in this is open to tweaking so feel free to provide criticism. Also, if you feel a certain word could be replaced by another, then suggest away. I have a feeling that this kit is overloaded, but numbers could be tweaked and certain parts of the kit could be removed to make up for that. And with that, let's begin!
So to begin with, I felt like Aatrox needed a full rework in order to fully capture the essence of his character. In his lore, Aatrox is essentially a god of war that inspires his allies to win fights against overwhelming odds, and I tried my best to reflect that with this kit. I tried my best to make Aatrox a sort of team buffing diver while also making it so that he could actually fight without his team there. He will remain a health cost champion. I also feel like this will be more satisfying to play than old Aatrox. Once again, everything is subject the change so don't hesitate to suggest changes.
Aatrox, The Avatar of War
P: Liberation of Blood – Aatrox drains the life force of his enemies as he slays them, gaining % lifesteal for minion kills, neutral monster kills, and champion kills. (2% per 15 minions, 1% per 5 monsters, 3% for champion kills).
Aatrox does not benefit from lifesteal built from items. This bonus lifesteal is instead converted to bonus attack damage. (1% LS = 1 Bonus AD)
P2: Exsanguination – While Aatrox is an Avatar of War, his Liberation of Blood is enhanced. His passive lifesteal bonus extends to nearby allied champions. This healing is 50% effective for allies.
Q: Dark Flight – Aatrox hunkers down and begins bracing himself for takeoff for up to 2 seconds. As he charges his flight, the range of this ability extends from 400-700 units, maxing out at 1.5 seconds, and the knockup area increases until it is the size of the damage area. When Aatrox takes off, he immediately flies above his target area, then slams down dealing (50/75/100/125/150 + 50% Bonus AD physical damage) and knocking up for .5 seconds.
Q2: Grim Warden – While Aatrox is an Avatar of War, his Dark Flight is enhanced. Aatrox braces himself for flight for 1 second, then soars into the air. While in the air, Aatrox can move freely, moves 10/15/20% faster and can fly over terrain. After selecting a target area or after 2 seconds, Aatrox slams into the ground dealing (150/200/250 + 50% Bonus AD physical damage) and knocking up for .75 seconds.
W: Warrior’s Dance – Aatrox prepares for battle, causing his next 3 strikes to be empowered.
1st strike – Aatrox sweeps his blade in a 180° arc, hitting all enemies caught in the slash. The main target takes 100% of Aatrox’s auto attack damage and is slowed by 10/15/20/25/30% for .75 seconds. All other enemies take 25% damage.
2nd strike – Aatrox slashes downward with his sword, hitting the main target for 100/105/110/115/120% of his auto attack damage and grounding the target for .5 seconds.
3rd strike – Aatrox stabs with his sword, hitting the main target and all enemies behind them. This attack deal 100% of his auto damage against the main target with a bonus 5/10/15/20/25% armor penetration. All other enemies take 25% damage.
W2: Cadence of War – While Aatrox is an Avatar of War, his Warrior’s Dance is enhanced. Aatrox readies himself for a slaughter, empowering his next 3 attacks.
1st strike – Aatrox sweeps his blade in a circle, hitting all enemies caught in the slash. All enemies take 100% of Aatrox’s auto attack damage and are slowed by 30/35/40% for .75 seconds.
2nd strike – Aatrox slashes downward with his sword, hitting the main target for 120/135/150% of his auto attack damage and grounding the target for .5 seconds.
3rd strike – Aatrox stabs with his sword, hitting the main target and all enemies behind them. This attack deals 100% of his auto damage against all enemies with a bonus 25/30/35% armor penetration.
E: Funnel of Life – Aatrox absorbs the life force of all enemies in a cone in front of him, using the life force absorbed to heal him and his allies in an area around him. This ability deals (20/30/40/50/60 + 4/5/6/7/8% of the enemy’s max health as physical damage) and heals for up to 100% of the damage dealt (capped at 75/80/85/90/95/100/110/120/130/140/150/165/180/195/210/225/250/275 from minions, scaling with level). This healing is distributed evenly among Aatrox and all allied champions around him, with each champion limited to healing 20% of the available healing.
E2: Vacuum of Life – While Aatrox is an Avatar of War, his Funnel of Life is enhanced. Aatrox sucks the life force from all enemies around him using the life force absorbed to heal him and his allies in an area around him. This ability deals (60/80/100 + 8/9/10% of the enemy’s max health as physical damage) and heals for 100% of the damage dealt (capped at 75/80/85/90/95/100/110/120/130/140/150/165/180/195/210/225/250/275 from minions, scaling with level). This healing is distributed evenly among Aatrox and all allied champions around him, with each champion limited to healing 20% of the available healing.
R: Avatar of War – Aatrox readies himself for a massacre, and begins channeling for 1.5 seconds. While channeling, Aatrox is immune to all Crowd Control and takes 50/60/70% reduced damage. After channeling for the full duration, Aatrox erupts from his hibernative state in his true form with blood curdling shriek, bolstering his allies and breaking his foes.
Aatrox slows every enemy hit by 10/20/30%. In addition, Aatrox buffs his allies based on how many enemies are hit by the ability for (6/7/8 seconds). Aatrox grants himself and his allies a bonus (10/15/20% Attack Speed per enemy hit), (3/4/5% Cooldown Reduction per enemy hit), and (10/15/20% Movement Speed per enemy hit). These bonuses push his allies past their limits and are not affected by stat limits as a result.
This ability’s cooldown is modified based on how many enemies and allies are hit:
+5% cooldown duration for every ally hit, including Aatrox.
-5% cooldown duration for every enemy hit.
TL:DR Turn Aatrox into a team buffing diving fighter instead of a confused tank/fighter drain tank thing in order to keep true to his lore.
