http://www.deviantart.com/art/Demon-Warrior-75991903 Golrag is a melee skirmish fighter who focuses on dealing continuous damage with his low cooldown Q, Wrathful Slash. Inteamfights he however isn't as strong with his in general short range and really long cooldown gapcloser in his ultimate. Play right and he'll have a hard time. Play wrong and you won't live to regret it.

Passive - Rage Armor Gains bonus percentage Armor and Magic Resist per enemy champion nearby.

Q - Wrathful Slashes Active: Golrag slashes his two blades in a cone in front of him, one blade at a time, each blade dealing physical damage and reducing armor for a period of time.

W - Fire and Suffering Active: Golrag strikes an enemy (Champion or Minion) or monster with his two blades dealing true damage over time. If Golrag strikes a minion or monster he will pick them up, making him unable to attack, until the minion/monster dies from the damage or he throws it away. When he thows the minion/monster away it will deal magic damage in an area around the minion/monster when it either reaches max range or hits an enemy or monster.

_Passive: _ Killing a minion makes Golrag's next Basic Attack towards an enemy champion deal additional magic damage.

E - Rage Swing Active: Golrag empowers his next basic attack making him slash his blades downwards dealing physical damage and stunning the enemy hit.

R - Demon's Power Active: On cast, Golrag removes all disables on himself and jumps to a target area dealing damage in an area around where he lands. He also sickens the land in an area around where he landed. Enemies standing on the sickened land take a small amount of true damage over time.

Passive: Golrag gains passive Attack Damage.

Notes on Abilites:

  • Passive: Not really much to say here. Golrag gain more Armor and Magic Resist the more enemies around him. Good for teamfighting.

  • Q: It goes of the way you are looking and it doesn't have a cast time making you able to use it on the run. It also does damage towers but Wrathful Slashes do only apply the Armor Penetration to units such as champions, minions and monsters.

  • W Active: He deals damage true damage over time, sort off like a mini ignite but not nearly as effective. He can as I wrote in the description of the abilty throw away minions and monsters towards his foes. This is his only real poke and as the "Minion Bombs" deal magic damage it becomes a bit of a trouble itemizing against Golrag if he decides to max this ability.

  • W Passive: So I think this is rather cool. If you kill a minion your next Basic Attack towards an enemy Champion does bonus magic damage to them. It should have a cooldown so Golrag can only do this to the same champion once every X seconds. I think it's cool because it brings this mentality that you have to prepare for the trading in lane much more than you otherwise would.

  • E: Not really the most complex ability. His next basic attack deals bonus damage and stuns the enemy hit.

  • R Active: He removes all slows and stuns etc. He can then use his Demon Powers to draw energy from the demon world making this huge leap dealing a lot of damage in the area where he landed. He then also, just as I said, sickens the land making the enemy take a very small amount of true damage over time. This makes it so that the enemies don't want to stay in the area and run while Golrag uses his E, Rage Swing, to lock down a high priority target.

  • R Passive: Golrag gains Attack Damge. Not at all hard to grasp what that means.

Golrag Gameplay and Combos:

Gameplay As Golrag is melee with only his Ultimate ability as any form of gapcloser he can be very weak in lane and teamfights if you play perfectly. He has a alot of upfront damage if you happen to get into melee range of him. When facing a ranged Champion I do believe that maxing W is the way to go for some long range poke. But it still isn't going to be easy. Just a tiny bit easier. It is in a melee vs melee matchup where Bolrag shines with his low CD Q and true damage DOT in his W. His passive and ult passive is made so that Golrag can chose to either go damage and rely on his passive to keep him alive or go tanky and rely on his ult passive and true damage DOTS to help him.

His teamfighting if not played properly can be really weak. He has to bait CC to him and then surprise the enemy by ulting, removing the disable, and jumping into them and using E to stun a high priority target like the enemy ADC or Midlaner. The enemy then has tough decision to make. Do they leave their ally or fight on the sickened ground?

Always remember that Golrag's ult is great for escaping troubles. If you get CC'd you active your ulti and jump away. If the enemies tries to chase you the'll have to run through the sickened land and take alot of damage.

Combos Even though Golrag is spell realiant he doesn't really have any real important combos. In lane he usally just goes for Qs, AAs or a bit of both. But I'll go over the basics.

Fast Trade Combo

Kill a minion - Q - AAs. This combo is fast, deals great damage and doesn't put you into to much of a risk. You need to kill a minion for the W Passive to proc on the enemy champion.

Safe and Great Trade Combo

E - W - Q- AAs. This combo is safe, easy to pull of and deals great damage. After they are stunned you quickly target the enemy with true damage DOT and then quickly use Q before he is able to walk again. If you feel like you can take the fight, proceed with AAs and Q whenever it's up.

Maximized Damage Combo

Kill Minion -Q - E - AA - W. You need to have killed a minion first so you get the bonus damage from your W Passive. Then you start off with Q making your E deal more damage as it is a empowered **autoattack ** with the W Passive aswell. Then you attack him once when has his armor reduced. Lastly you throw your E, Fire and Suffering, and run away.

All In Combo

Kill Minion - R - Q - E - W - AAs - Q - AAs. You should really only do this if you think you can kill the enemy. If not you wasted you disable remover and only jump to safety in your ult.

Itemizing and Summoner Spells Since most of Golrags' abilites scale of Attack Damage that is what you'll be wanting to look for when buying offensive items on Golrag. But as I earlier pointed out going tanky is also viable with his ult passive and true damage to help you get damage anyway.

The recomended builtpath is to build a mix of Attack Damage and Tankiness. The core items for Golrag is: Mercury Treads, Trinity Force and Frozen Mallet.

  • Mercury Treads are great because it gets Golrag more Tenacity making him much more effective when his ult isn't up.
  • Trinity Force is also a great item on Galrog since it gives him Movement Speed to help him follow his foes, Sheen for his low CD Q and the Attack Speed to deal more damage with the Attack Damage form his ult passive.
  • Frozen Mallet is also a great core item because really makes you stick and deal damage to your enemies.

The Summoner Spell you should take depends on your role, playstyle and personal preference but i would advise to always take Flash for extra mobility.

Lore/Background Golrag is the last of his demon kind. He lost everyone in a battle to their biggest enemies. He was alone again an entire army when his wrath took over, charhing the enmies team and without stopping slashed them down, throwing them into eachother while also slamming them into the ground. At one time he almost got overmanned but he called upon his demon powers from the demon lord and got out of the trouble, sickening the entire battlefield and jumping high up only to come back down and destroying the entire enemy army alone.

The art is not mine. I found it on DeviantArt. Amazing artwork by ProjectHybrid. http://projecthybrid.deviantart.com/

Please give thoughts, ideas, critizism and give it a thums up for visibilty if you like it.

Thank you very much for reading.

Where are the ability details? Mana/Rage/whatever cost, Cooldowns, Ability Range. Where are the base stats? You can look to LoL wiki for a base stat format and ability scaling formats. If you want base stats for a fighter you can find a fighter champion in LoL wiki and base your numbers from theirs. Ability detail is important because right now you Golrag has the exact same passive as MonkeyKing.

It's nice that you added ability combos, but it sucks that ability details aren't there.

+1 Just so that everyone sees it.

Take a look at mine :D Erl the Extravagant Spellblade
