New champion suggestion, Thanus the Artificer
Background:
His character model would be that of a traditional wizard with the exception that he wields a tool of his own making, which he dubbed the dragon wand. It is the same in appearance as any other wand with the exception of the giant dragon head that is fitted to the end of it. It has the ability to absorb and redirect magic as the wielder sees fit. This would make him a great counter to caster based champions. His kit would be of skills that would typically be associated with a traditional wizard, fireballs, lightning etc...
Lore:
Renowned around Runeterra as a great inventor he resides in a remote part of Piltover and is an inventor for hire, traveling all over to create new spells and items that will help whoever has the resources to track him down and enlist his aid. He is always seen to use his own personal creation known as the Dragon wand. He uses it for every job regardless of the requirements. He is often seen to be "fishing" for energy to store within his invention to be used at a later time for whatever he needs. This tool has of course drawn the attention of several less that scrupulous individuals who would use it to conquer instead of help the people. Because of this he is constantly traveling or living in remote areas. Often viewed as eccentric and arrogant, he thinks of himself as being among the greatest inventors of Runeterra, rivaling even the genius of the engineer Heimerdinger.
He would be a control mage for mid or would make a decent poke support,
Kit
Passive - "Arcane Knowledge" - Increases magic resist based on last hits. (+ 0.50 magic resist per lane minion killed) due to this he will have poor MR base stats and scaling.
Q - "FireBolt" - Fires a straight line skill shot in the shape of a fireball that will explode as it reaches max range. Can be reactivated early to detonate fireball whenever the user wishes. does a small amount of damage as it passes through target as a burn over 1.5 seconds. The explosion causes a larger amount of damage with a more severe burn over 3 seconds.
W - "Lethargy Zone" - Thanus creates a field that will slow (but not stop) everything that passes through it, champions, abilities, minions, etc.
E - " Absorb " - Passive - Storing charges will slightly increase the effectiveness of Thanus' other spells 1 charge bonus - slow in lethargy zone is made 10% stronger 2 charge bonus - burn duration on firebolt is increased by 1 second 3 charge bonus - increased movement speed by 5%
Active - Thanus points his dragon wand at an incoming enemy champion ability and absorbs it to store as a charge for later use. (up to 3 charges can be stored at a time) An ability can be absorbed if Thanus is facing the incoming spell but activating the ability while facing the wrong direction will result in you just looking silly and taking and damage or cc that the spell offers.
(It will be similar to Fiora's Riposte, but instead of reflecting the damage or cc back it will absorb it if the user is facing the incoming ability. Meant to work in conjunction with W to ensure correct positioning.)
R - "Electrical Storm" - Thanus channels the energy stored in his wand into lightning then calls it down from the sky to strike his foes. Damage of ult is based on number of charges that have been stored by using E active ability
0 charges - does one burst of electrical power in a target area 1 charge - does one (stronger) burst of electrical power to the target area 2 charges - does 2 bursts of electrical power to 2 target areas 3 charges - does 3 bursts of electrical power to 3 target areas
I will be working on possible character models and spell effects and will update this post accordingly I would appreciate any input that can be provided or any upvotes if you like the idea of this champ Thanks in advance :)
