Champion Concept: Theresa the Pain-Eater (old woman)
I recently saw a post asking why LoL had no old ladies, and the response from a rioter asked the OP to come up with something that wasn't just "old lady". Here's the idea I had a little bit ago and had to put down for you to see. Let me know what you think!
CHAMPION: Theresa the Pain-Eater
Her parents had been killed when she was young. Her husband was gone, long ago. Her first lover, long before that. Her children were gone. Her grandchildren had been snatched from her by the troops of a nation far away. She had been tortured, maimed, raped, ignored. Living in a small village between two powers at war had left her nothing except her life. She drowned in misery. Her first breath of air came when she found a wounded soldier--she did not know, nor care, for whom he fought--and listened to his story. He had a wife and children, and as he told Theresa their stories she found herself wishing for the end of this stranger's pain. She laid her hands upon his head, and he vanished.
Nobody is sure if she sent him to his home, or if he was one of the gods in disguise. Since his visit, Theresa began to see the suffering of those around her. She forgot her own losses. She found those that hurt the most, and she said her prayers, and she took their pain. The sorrow inside her blossomed into a grim joy as she felt the opposing happiness and relief that she had caused bloom around her.
Soon, as her grief slowly built to the sadness of an entire world, she moved to the battle-lines of the nearby conflict. Sensing that the bulk of the pain she endured came from these places, she stood between warring armies and cried her message of release: only step back from violence, and the suffering of the innocent--of the world itself--could be lessened. She called upon her gods to send the suffering of the world upon her, who had experience, and endured, all possible suffering.
The gods listened.
She screamed in agony as she felt the weight of every orphan, widow, father or mother child-reaved. The approaching armies heard her scream and recognized her agony. They hung their heads in shame, weapons dropping to the ground as they wept for the blood they had shed.
Theresa raised her face, stained with tears of blood.
The gods smiled.
ABILITIES:
PASSIVE: Mother's Tears Theresa's auto-attacks cause no damage, instead placing a mark of "shame" on the target. A target marked with shame has reduced attack damage and ability power.
Q: Widow's Prayer PASSIVE: enemies marked with shame take damage when they attack Theresa or nearby allies. ACTIVE: consume all nearby marks of shame to deal damage to enemies.
W: Orphan's Cry ACTIVE: Theresa screams, reducing nearby enemies' movement speed and attack speed. Orphan's Cry applies marks of shame to all nearby enemies.
E: Blood of the Innocent PASSIVE: when Theresa or an ally marked with Blood of the Innocent is killed, enemies who participated in the kill losemana/energy. ACTIVE: mark an ally with Blood of the Innocent. Ally receives increased mana/energy regeneration and health regeneration
R: Martyr's Sacrifice PASSIVE: reduces crowd-control effects, area of effect damage, and damage over time to Theresa. ACTIVE: removes all crowd-control effects, area of effect damage, and damage over time from all allies, transferring effects to Theresa. Theresa becomes untargetable for a short period of time. At the end of the active effect, Theresa gains a small amount of health and movement speed. If Theresa is killed during this time, the nearest dead ally is immediately revived with reduced health.
