Custom skin contest?

I feel like Riot could benefit from custom skins greatly and give people an incentive to make them heres how: Every week riot holds a poll for the top custom skins, and what skin should be made into an actual purchasable skin for 720 RP (or whatever amount they decide)

After a skin has been selected the creator of the skin gets the skin for free and 10% of the profit the skin makes

This allows more customisation for players and their play style as well as giving many champions some love who haven't had a new skin in quite some time for example, Urgot, Yorick, cassiopeia, swain, taric, sivir ect...

Let me know what you guys think i wouldn't mind seeing yorick muffin in the store :3

I like the idea with one change, no 10% to the creator nice as that would be is very complicated and unlikely. I would rather just say the skin for free and the recognition. If your skin was voted on an implemented into a game like league then just the recognition alone could boost an artists name and portfolio so much, so if they were to try and do something for they're fans who are creative without legal complications that would be the way to go. Probly a once or twice a year to.

I would just be good with the free skin, 10% would be hard to reward as well.

This if actually a really good idea that I hope riot impingement but I think the money wouldn't work because it would get to complicated

if not money at least some form of permanent recognition like the skin with a special border like when the project skins came out and had borders

Now you're thinking. It would be far better for "community-designed" skins to be recognized by Riot in some way, and made more public. Like perhaps if the original idea man (Community-wise, i.e. the guy who made the Boards post which was noticed by Riot) had his or her summoner name written in the corner of the splash art, like "Community Designed by: XXXXXXXX."

or just a creator border lol but thats cool too

I like the idea of more community skin concepts coming to live (rather than just through custom mods), but this would be a hard system to implement. I'd rather have people suggest skins here for the possibility of them reaching fruition and having said skins be high quality, or just having Riot designed skins.

There's actually supposed to be a Dragonmaster Swain skin either in production (Or on-ice, since Swain is in need of a bit of a rework). Pretty Riot has confirmed this, not totally certain though.

The problem with community-created skins is that many of them don't fit champions thematically. Other times, they just aren't well thought-out or even really very good at all, same as some community-created champion concepts.

Skins which make sense, and have a lot of planning put into them by the community are probably the most likely to be made into actual skins.

Not 10% of profits... maybe like, a flat amount of RP or money? I doubt they'd do it if they had to pay who made the skins.

A new skin every week? I feel like the quality of the skins and the artstyle of the game would suffer a bit

That's another reason. The skins can't be made specifically by the community. Even with good, hard work, the skins will likely be buggy or simply low quality. IF community chosen skins are made into actual skins by Riot artists, then Riot is bogged down too much employee-wise, as a lot of work goes into making skins such high quality.
