!!!!! I personally can only see these champs being played more often!! These skins work really well with each other and really show off that and are really sisters when brought together or played on the same team!!!!!

Obviously Leona, Diana and their relationship are a very popular part of the League and that's why it keeps resurfacing! I've been looking for an excuse to contribute to the forums since joining Riot proper and this seems like a great place to start >:D
While Diana and Leona are tragically opposed, the idea of an 'Eclipse' that involves a balance of the Moon and the Sun is a pretty interesting idea and a very strong thematic device. I originally drew that concept as a response to IronStylus asking the forums what we thought an Eclipse Leona would look like and, having a tendency to make things dark and evil (Yes, RiotPenguin and I have formed an alliance with the sole purpose of corrupting every LoL champ), I leaned towards a sinister skin inspired by a solar eclipse.
I'm not so sure that the same design language would work for Diana, although perhaps a version that really plays up the solar fire and the warm accents would work well as a counterbalance to Leona. I also see time and time again the polarising effect the covered face has on players and wonder if it's because Leona is just too beautiful or if my execution, though just a rough sketch, was too crude. Looking at it now does make me cringe a little and Nitenz's Diana is a much nicer design.
The reverse skins by Vegacolors are really well executed. I love how you can still identify their faces despite them having radically different hair colour/armour. I don't think we could ever do designs exactly like this due to issues with how they would read in-game. One important factor we have to always think about is "If this champion pops out of a bush do I immediately recognise who it is?" and while it's one thing to make a departure from the base skin, it's another to look just like another existing champion.
It is truly a wonderful thought to imagine them side by side though, even in an alternate reality. With that in mind do you have any thoughts on how else we could portray them, fighting as one?

If you did make this a while back, kudos. I'd pay. Riot should let people design skins and sell them on a market place of some sort. Give them like 20% cut, Riot gets the rest. I'd like that quite a lot.
Blainezy3 votesMoonlight and sunlight both have effects on tides/oceans. I think a thematic concept with that in mind (only when releasing them together) could turn out pretty interesting since the thought behind it would then make sense. A watery based Diana with tidal like effects would be quite interesting since I've grown quite fond of her lately and her two current skins are pretty lackluster even though I do own Lunar Goddess.
RiotKindlejack3 votesThat sounds like a fine idea for Diana. The colours and effects of the ocean/tides would fit her well and the Moon's gravity actually affects tides. Syndra shares similar themes to Diana and has a nice Atlantean skin that could be used for reference. In fact the other Atlantean skin is Fizz who is also a mid laner.
A water-based Leona skin probably wouldn't come together as well as she tends to run pretty hot, also she already has a Pool Party skin and that feels like the place to have done watery effects.
Blainezy1 votesAtlantean Diana it is!! Lol. Leona is hard to come up with concepts for it seems. She has such a narrow niche with her sun comparison that it's quite hard. She could always just be Solar Flare Leona... I just don't know what could be done for any of her effects.. Although her ult could be quite flashy (DBZ Solar Flare, haha)... I will have to think about Leona a bit... I've never played her since I main mid and ADC, so don't have a good feel for her.
Blainezy1 votesAs I sit here already brainstorming I realize that the sun has an extremely strong gravitational force, but not only that an extremely powerful magnetic field.. A Magnetic Leona concept could prove interesting.. While some magnetic fields do pull things in they would also slow enemies since it would pull as they walk. I think that could be interesting.. Her ult could even display shockwaves of magnetic fields.. That could be really fun..

I can't remember who it was, but somebody had an inverted and skin. If you want to bring them together you should name them Courtship Diana and Courtship Leona. Courtship is another way of saying eclipse, and I feel like it would be a better thematic name altogether.
KING OF MASKS1 votesJust to expand on the headgear problem, the defining factor is practicality. As a comparison, look at Defender Leona. The difference is, if you'll forgive me, night and day. The helmet in the Eclipse concept obscures vision (ignoring any mystical magical second sight silliness) and has two uselessly decorative protrusions that serve no purpose and in a worst case scenario could be used by an enemy to grapple poor Leona's head. Defender Leona's helmet has none of that nonsense.

However, Targon's peak is reserved for a special group of Rakkoran who answer to a ''higher'' calling. Members of this group, called the Solari, retire their mantles of war, choosing instead to devote their lives to reverence of the sun.
The Solari is just members of the tribe that devote themselves to the sun. Therefore Diana and Leona are both members of the Rakkor tribe.

xXxBuDaHxXx1 voteswhile the idea is fantastic, I haven't yet read how they might have this common bit, cause leo is of the sun, dressed repectively, and Diana the moon. an eclipse might be a time they both armor up for an even dealier opponent than each other, say a being of absolute darkness that comes with the dual eclipe or somefin. run with it. original and refreshing I say :-)
