Gender Champs
Big time fan of League - I am relatively new to the game, so forgive me if my idea/concept is something that has been discussed in the past or is just flat out stupid. I understand that what I am about to propose is a HUGE undertaking and maybe it is not something RIOT or other players would want to see happen.
My proposal is this: From my understanding the basic lore of the League Universe is that Summoners (aka. Players) summon champions from across the realm to fight out wars in a concentrated area. What if that more emphasis was put on the Summoner - upon creating your account a Summon creates and Avatar, when selecting a champion rather than becoming that champion entirely you "equip" your avatar with your selected champion. To irritate, if one where to select the champion Ashe - when playing the game you would look like yourself but with a bow and perhaps a cool hood and cape.
*I attached the link to the 2013 Champion Finals Trailer which animates a little bit of the concept that I am talking about.
Another option could be to have gender bent skins for all champions.
I'm sick of hearing people complain that characters in video games are over sexualized or over masculinized or whatever else they can find to complain about. This would be a great way to have ALL of this shut down. Now rather than picking Ahri because she is smoke show - you would pick her abilities.
It would be interesting to see if all these people who say women's body types are not accurately depicted in video games make characters that resemble themselves in real life :P
PS. I am aware that this would be a HUGE undertaking for the Riot developers and it would also make the lore and stories behind the champions kinda pointless - that being said, it doesn't mean that we can't still read about the explores of Ashe or whom ever in Riot Universe postings
