Mystery Skin Swap

Quite a while ago, a 'friend' that I had been playing with for many months suggested that we should do a mystery skin swap. Naively, I followed through by gifting him a 975+ skin but he didn't, saying that there was an error sending me my mystery skin. Now he is perma-banned and on a different region server, he said that he can no longer give me my promised mystery skin! Ok, rant over and thank you for hearing me out on my stupidity but this gave me an idea for a small concept...

I'm wondering what the community thinks of a way that we can mystery swap a skin/icon/etc. fairly so that the swap only works if both participants buys the gift equally. Not long ago, there was an incentive icon of Rakan and Xayah that can only be gained if a participant gifted one of these champions to another. I remember that I had to trust a stranger on my friends list for a swap as I'm sure many other summoners did too... Maybe this can be a concept open only during Christmas to encourage more people to gift and thus, spend more monies on League?
