I want to pitch a concept on how to clean up toxicity for a brief period of time, yearly if accepted

The concept is centered around the idea that with the last two darkin available a behavioral wall and strict set of missions can clean up a majority of misbehaved summoners within the league community, Whereby summoners accomplishing a feat of admirable games and team acknowledgment within the year or years to come could unlock the physical champion but also represent a strive for a player reform and the desire to change the way people look at the game in the future. I would like to discuss the overall goal, a probable backlash, and a future in which being honorable for a loading screen flair would be different than being honorable for a champion that seems near impossible to get for ones own hubris in their in game personality. But I can't foresee the backlash and i can't write how a whole of people would move forward with this because i'm just one person out of the hundreds of people who play this game so i don't think i have any right to write these last two without this gaining some form of help or form of compromise on wanting to at least help guide the perception within league; to be a game people don't uninstall because of trolling but leave because they've grown out of the game.

(Subject to be revised) In the most basic sense, is that you can buy the champion but it's locked from summoners rift behind missions to keep you reminded on what you spent your Blue Essence/ RP on and what the game requires you to be for earning them, honorable. The behavioral wall that i mentioned comes from the already existing reward for going a year without a single report getting filed on oneself, and the fact that the account has to be verified with a phone number/email will hopefully keep a failed missioner from rebuying the champion on another account; it being yearly means it's not an impossible feat, just one that builds a strong mental within it's players to accomplish it. This might cause a divide where people who have already failed the mission will spitefully spam reports on other people or try to do harm by infuriating their teams for their own mistake in a previous loss, thats okay because i do believe that reports need to be consistent for them to take effect even if that were to be the case, a false report without detail shouldn't have any affect on the main mission. In situations where trolling takes place or an infuriating summoner exists It shouldn't affect the person playing as well as strengthening their motivation to never end up as said example and giving them the desire to move past the game with a loading screen flair. While tilting does exist it shouldn't be taken out on other people trying hard for their own sake too, everyone would be on the same boat up until they decide they want to jump ship and act toxic but then they'd be locked out of using the darkin in ranked games had they just stayed calm and collected.

(Subject to be revised) A sort of progress report in the form of monthly 1 off side missions came to mind when evaluating how a person handles a difficult situation in matches where a troll would exist. These side missions would give out the normal experience and BE of a First Win Of The Day or maybe some keys or hextech chests for those who are below honor level 2 and are also trying to be reformed, like getting a report for the primary mission these monthly missions would end until next year for the the player to try again. Where a team wins a game for a player who is reaching a death number before a certain amount of time and causing high end stress, to pushing back from an open nexus, rage quit or a bed time maybe even dinner got called and you've been hit with an afk, the thundering echos of enemy missing, missions that show that you were unfazed and pulled together in dire situations even if surrendering was an option not for you individually you said no. Where they got hit with a report and lost the chance to rift as a darkin, you powered through like an ascended warrior you earned your right to get your bought champion on summoners rift to be seen as the impossible, accomplished player you showed you were. The champion would always be bannable but selecting would have to be earned on the rift and no one would see it coming, because theres an idea that everyone thinks riot wont clean up their community/that it's toxic, but it's not all one rank or sub group of 1tricks thats toxic its just the flaw of human nature that we can control as individuals and should be rewarded for it justly so; I can imagine a random bronze 5 player playing ranked matches with that champion within the the same year as someone from a higher elo who's just as exceptionally deserving.

The goal is to pause or help halt toxicity in game along with help from the community, for the teams more-so in game If not for what the champion should represent, it can show that reforming can happen or at least good people do exist within the game. The Player Behavior Boards don't have to be filled with the most minuscule of complaints and could even be lightened up from posts if a good focus of distraction was implemented like this. I would like for this concept to be recognized and worked on if at all possible by others who want a way to help as well. Moderators and Community, Riot support, and Game Dev’s i’d like as much of the Leave No Player Behind to take effect on this and fore this to be used at least as an example in a future better thought out more plan.

(Subject to be revised) The current frustration currently involve the character's special placement for playing on a prominent map and dividing the community as two halves. Creates frustration if not easily accessible, especially when you see the character around, as well as could make people who DO have it a target for toxicity. Feels like a tax to get everything, rather than a reward for good behavior. I also vaguely know of the way certain streamers and famous players might get targeted for reports that might not even be true. (examples needed for true backlash paragraph - )

Moving forward i would like for this to be further expanded upon by players and moderattors and hopefully riot support and marketing staff who take small notice of people chiming in on ways to help a community rise together, even if it is just a concept its one that multitudes of people can work on for a brighter future, on this ever evolving game.

So, while it is an interesting idea; it isn't one I could get behind for a few reasons.

I can buy the champion, but I am unable to use them unless I match a criteria? That doesn't seem fair honestly. You are imposing two prices for use of a champ. More if you include skin cost.

Now, if you want to make some special unique skins that are free but require honor level x to use; that would be more fair.

To pick at your wording, "not being reported" will most likely be a huge flop. Maybe you already account for false reports being thrown out, maybe you aren't. Hell if it wouldn't feel bad to lose access to a champ I paid for because someone was petty and reported for nothing.

What happens for draft picks and trading? Maybe team mate wants me to secure the champ but I can't. "Sorry, I can't because reason x behavior." Indirectly you are punishing a team.

{quoted}The concept in the most basic sense is that you can buy the champion but it's locked from summoners rift behind missions to keep you reminded on what you spent your Blue Essence/ RP on and what the game requires you to be for earning them, honorable.

This sounds really frustrating. I already worked to get that BE or spent real money to get that RP, and I did so because I wanted to play the champion in question now.

You could just re-verify with a different phone number or email. Regardless, a one-shot try to get something that actually impacts gameplay doesn't sound in keeping with League's philosophies -- nor does avoid a single report, as even very well behaved players can have bad days, which is why the system has a bit of leniency built in.

Where they got hit with a report and lost the chance to rift as a darkin, you powered through like an ascended warrior you earned your right to get your bought champion on summoners rift to be seen as the impossible, accomplished player you showed you were.

This actually seems like it would make for a lot of frustration and provoke responses from toxic players just by that character's existence. It's actually really infuriating to see someone running around with something you really want but can never get again. It's also really alienating to the community, because League has always been, in-game, a level playing field, and any time this character is at ALL good it doesn't make for a level playing field because some players do not have the ability to purchase/use them if they want to.

The goal is to pause or help halt toxicity in game along with help from the community, for the teams more-so in game If not for what the champion should represent, it can show that reforming can happen or at least good people do exist within the game.

...being a good community member already does show this though. I encounter good players fairly frequently, even in losing games. I don't need someone playing a special champion to show me -- I need someone acting like a decent person to show me.

I really can't endorse this idea at all. It's frustrating, might actually provoke toxicity, punishes people for having a few bad days (not everyone who is chat restricted -- even multiple times -- is necessarily a bad person) and creates an irreversible loss of actual in-game content on a failure, which can lead people to go "well, I can't get that thing I wanted on this account any more, so what's the point in not being toxic? It just has too many downsides, and the only "upside" is that you're effectively strong-arming good behavior by dangling a prize in a manner that goes against League's philosophy of accessibility -- if you purchase something, you get to use it. None of this "well, he's meta right now and I'd like to try him out, but I guess I have to wait a YEAR."

i support this decision however i feel like there should be more than just the 2 daarkin possibilities from the honors; it has to keep everyone interested and honestly not everyone is into the daarkin hype, we could try adding maybe 1 special champion to every nation or clique of league. possibly even a special skin for champions, much like the victorious skins for those gold+.

i agree that riot should step up on their report system, as one who actively reports those who harass others or, intentionally throws match and i dont see nearly enough of these people penalized. they introduced this honor system to make people feel like theyre helping the community out but in reality it just gives people big heads. ive had people report me purely because i was bad but had a high honor lvl because "eff me i dont deserve to be in this elo." if riot were to put some time and thought into this i believe it could work out alot better than their current system for penalties, hopefully they take a look at this and give us some extra thought on the subject

read it but not really sure about my own opinion finding toxic players in games are what Im used to although it doesn't bug me till it gets racist however using rewards as a way to stop toxic sounds like a wonderful idea but locking certain champions around it doesn't sound to fun instead i would offer rp as a reward for good behavior based on honors and what kind of things said in chat and even make rp gain able through mission with good behavior. i have mixed feelings about this as im sure others will as well

i think that this is honestly a great idea to reduce toxicity but i dont think it should be based around just the darkin it could be based off of any new champion that is released
