Nami: Into the Abyss - Comics - Universe of League of Legends

Alright, so this is just a general discussion, nothing big or game-changing, but just one I was personally interested in making. For a TL;DR, there's a few champ ideas here, and I want to hear some more from you folks! Just, if an idea strikes your fancy, post it in the comments!

So I wanna start out saying I started 2014, end of summer, and I've been here for roughly a third of the void champions that were intro'd to the game. I've always loved the void champions, they're incredibly unique from a visual standpoint, and often from a mechanical standpoint as well. (Though to be fair, it's not the game's fault Kai'Sa shares a role with Kog'Maw and that Kassadin shares a role with Kha'Zix; there's only so many roles after all.) But before I take a trip to tangent-land lets get back on track. I want to hear some ideas from you folks out there about concepts for a void champion that you think should be explored. And don't get me wrong, I'm aware that there are plenty of suggestions out there already for full champion builds, but lets get real, there have been very few times where a champion who was developed came about from a board post. So just feel free to fling ideas, have fun with it, whatever works! If you've got ideas I want to hear em, that stuff interests me!

You may have noticed the quite obvious link to Nami: Into the Abyss, and there's a reason for that; the comic explores a side of the Void that we haven't seen in game yet, and it's a fantastic idea to implement. A semi-aquatic Void entity would work wonderfully as either a mage or a jungler, and I think it'd be something fun to play around with! If you look up other Void related discussions on the boards, you'll even find an idea or two that has been suggested for such a champion, and since it would work canonically with a characters established lore, I think it'd be a pretty cool way to remind everyone that, yes, Nami comes from an entire tribe of people, and by association also remind people that the Lunari are actually a thing. Everyone remembers the Solari and land based Vastaya, but when so many champions have "accidents" related to the ocean and we know the void is down there, I think it has some pretty huge implications.

Second idea I want to personally explore before we go anywhere would be a flying Void champion. Now I hear you, I do, and yes I remember that Vel'Koz "flies" and Kha'Zix has wings, but I personally see those, respectively, as levitation and gliding; so when I say flying, I really mean flying, as in the character utilizes wings to walk/run/etc and possibly have a dedicated flight ability that works like a dash or something. Personally, I'd want to see it become a support as well, mostly because there's not a real support void champion (No, I do NOT count Vel'Koz as a real support, that's just taking a mage bot lane for cheese.) The idea would be a speedy creature, incredibly squashable (fitting the insectoid motif) Void entity that makes the terrain more favorable for allies to fight in. Perhaps it can spit at two points between nearby terrain, creating a breakable wall, or a trippable line that slows and corrodes Armor and MR, similar to Kog'Maw's Q. Another ability could be placing breakable hives that grant vision and (at a breathtakingly slow pace) generate little grubs that seek out and infest enemies or objectives (IE, reducing an enemies speed and resistances, attacking towers/inhibitors like the Zz'Rot portal, you get the idea) Ultimate could be a large radius of sound around the champ, creating a zone where enemy spells and abilities are silenced, lasting for a duration and following the champ. Just, you know, sort of a weird, wacky denial champion who supports by disrupting the enemy, like a really disturbing cicada.

But I digress, if you've read this far I congratulate you. Thanks for putting up with my shit, and maybe post some ideas of your own below! After all, that's the whole point of this discussion! Hope you guys have fun discussing ideas, and that y'all get along! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
