i think... you're doing okay for freehand. most artists today use digital enhancers and special tools and techniques to get certain shapes and symmetry. keep practicing and you'll get there one day. if you want to be a "free hand" drawer you're going to have to start making your art from your mind and not from mimicry. that way you can draw things no one has ever seen before and not have to worry about if it looks close to the original or not because it will be an original.
