What Champion should I Get?

Sorry, I hate to post something that has been posted probably a million times, but seriously, I'm completely at a loss here.

I got some money for christmas and spent some on RP, so I have enough for anyone. And yes, I am aware that I "should get skins", and through examination I have decided I would prefer a champion RIGHT NOW, so please, no one bring that up.

Basically, I play as Jax usually, and I do quite well with him, so I think the type of champ I would want would be a melee or ranged, powerful but specifically a tank, and (could be) a top laner. I don't care if they rely on mana or not, and the more fun the better.

Also, I would like someone who I could possibly stick with for a while, and not have to give up at a certain time of play. For example, Garen seems to be good until more people have Darius, and then he seems just completely useless.

And for them to be easy to use, well, that would probably be less fun, but I could care less how easy/hard they are.

Thank you in advance; if you need any more clarification, tell me. I really want to know who I should get!

Spending RP on champs while they are not on sale is a rip off I would just like to point that out. Even when they are on sale they are pricey. Fiora Irelia Riven Gnar Those are the champs that I would suggest, Fiora being the easiest of them all by a landslide.

You could get Galio, he works quite well as a tank thanks to his passive and W, does great base damage, is great at disruption and the best in the game at disengage. He isn't seen very often so people don't know what to expect from him and the Synergy with Orianna is a plus as well.

I wouldn't recommend buying the champions with RP unless they are on sale. To that end, I'd recommend looking at the Sale Prediction and History spreadsheet before making your decision.

If you are looking for a tanky top laner, I would recommend: Irelia Maokai Gnar DrMundo Gragas

Of them, I'd probably recommend Irelia. She is somewhat similar to Jax in playstyle and abilities, though she has many differences, and she is a strong pick against squishy ranged top laners (which are currently popular). I'd recommend watching some videos by CarryMe2Plat, since he's an experienced Irelia main.

Maokai is another strong pick with a lot of utility, durability, and base damage.

Gnar and Rek'sai are two recent ones that leap to mind that are good value for money - they have more abilities than typical heroes, because their ability sets change based on their current states - Gnar gains a whole new moveset as Mega Gnar, and Rek'sai gains new abilities while burrowed.

Been having a lot of fun with them myself lately. Some other heroes that change are Elise and Jayce, though I haven't had as much fun with them.
