Handra, Matron of War
Handra, Matron of War I wanted a champion who fits the "Iron Lady" character archetype - an older woman filled with resolve and with a motherly concern for her fellow soldiers. Thematically, she is the reverend mother of a Demacian Monastic Order. She is a huge, heavily armored woman with a warhammer and a tower shield. Passive - Relentless Each time Handra is hit by an enemy auto-attack or ability, the cooldown on each of her abilities is reduced by 0.5 seconds. Q - Awesome Blow Handra swings her hammer in a cone, dealing damage (AP) and knocking back units in front of her. Enemies knocked into terrain are stunned. W - Embolden Handra heals herself and a nearby friendly champion (AP), cleansing them of Crowd Control. E - Intercept Handra dashes a short distance to a target enemy, shielding herself (HP) and dealing damage (AP), stunning them for a split second. R - Forward! Handra channels, slowing herself. On the second cast, Handra charges forward, knocking back enemies in a wide area front of her, and knocking them up in a wide radius at the end of her charge. Enemies hit at any point in the charge take damage (AP + HP).
I wanted to design a champion who is very slow with heavily telegraphed, short bursts of mobility, which she uses to engage diving fighters, assassins, and engage tanks, and peel them from her carries with strong crowd control and utility. She has terrible DPS, although I am picturing the damage from a fully charged "Forward!" to be breathtaking. This is obviously really rough, but what do you think? Could she work as a champion? Does anybody else do her job better than she does? I know Handra will probably never be realized in game, but I'd like to come as close as I can to a working model.
