Managing Inactive Accounts

With the growing number of players I feel like the amount of available usernames are dropping, which is only natural but I also feel like a portion of this is due to inactive accounts which could possess one of a kind nicknames (looking at you level 6 account with the username Katarina.) I am wondering if there's a system to deal with inactive accounts in any sort of way and if not then maybe thoughts towards making one? I understand that this isn't a very pressing issue compared to doing things like the balancing of champions and items but I feel like this would be nice to have in the game.
