Why isn't Aphelios classified as a specialist

I read that Aphelios is classified as a marksman, but considering that he would be able to swap between weapons, why isn't he a specialist?

This is not Heroes of the storm. Also, not even Heroes of the storm has specialist role for long.

Just cause he can use different weapons doesn't make him NOT a marksmen. We aren't even positive on what all those weapons are yet.

you mean it could be possible that he could switch between different kinds of guns then? The splash art shows a kind of scythe though. I won't stress over it. I'm just pretty hyped for what could be a completely new kind of playstyle and wondered why he wasn't classified as a Specialist and thought to ask about the thoughts of others :)

The splash showed scythe styled weapon, but as I figured and now confirmed in his reveal to be a scythe pistol.

So, yeah, he swaps between mainly guns, and a boomerang. Which is going to make an interesting playstyle for a Marksmen.
