Skin Rental

I'm still trying to get the hang of this game, particularly the new crafting system. I got Hextech Annie in my first box after the free one it gives you. Naturally, I couldn't craft it yet because I had not disenchanted anything. So I saw the button that says "rent for 7 days" and thought, "Oh, ok, there's a rental feature where you can see if you want to spend all your currency crafting a skin or not." Was heartbroken to realize that this destroyed the skin shard, and I'll no longer have the opportunity to use it at the end of the 7 days!! Riot, please please please insert a (destroys shard) disclaimer or something under the button for rental. Why would I ever want to use a shard of such an expensive skin just to have it for 7 days? I know I wont be given the skin shard back, I just want it to inform new players like myself that they are using their shard permanently in order to rent the skin. Sincerely, Disgruntled Annie player who thought they had the epic skin shard permanently.
