Why has trade not been introduced?

I have been pondering over this question for a while but why can't players in LOL have the opportunity to exchange champions, skins, projects ect? I understand it would require a lot of work, however it would improve the gameplay and communication between players would increase resulting in a better experience of the game. :)

Riot doesn't want to create a 3rd party market, as those can usually end up screwing a player over

I really really like this idea and think it would be an awesome addition. However, I feel like there should be a 24 hour window for you to cancel the trade or make sure that's what you want. Ect. That way you don't accidentally make a trade that you don't want.
