Zoe Spell Thief RNG vs bad RNG
I looked for something along these lines and couldn't find anything so if I just don't know how to League Boards (I don't use Reddit) then please link it below and then ridicule me for it if it is what you want to do. Just ridicule me in a way that isn't ban worthy as a ban probably isn't worth it for making fun of me... Or maybe it is, I (probably) don't know you and don't want to make assumptions.
Anyway, what makes Zoe's Spell Thief drops from minions ok or acceptable or whatever the kids are calling it these days whereas things like old Ninja Tabi (12% dodge) are bad? I know they are very different in practice, but I don't really get what makes the random drops better than random dodge. That being said, I do get that things like TP or Redemption can offer more interesting gameplay than "I outplayed you because your auto missed because 12% dodge and I have my amazing Malzahar Ult which is targeted and totally skillful bwahahaha". (No offense Malzahar mains, you can use your targeted ult to murder me in game which is even better when you flash your mastery 7 at me to prove it is the ultimate outplay. I'll even get tilted and feed you more or something because outplays are fun for the one being outplayed.)
I am by no means saying it is game breaking or that it is a terrible idea or that she should be deleted (like I have heard others mention), I am just curious as to the thought behind character specific RNG. I am also not trying to complain about Malzahar being OP and deserving of a nerf because that is way outside my area of expertise; it was just the first example I thought of.
