Any else miss old Galio. I enjoyed the kit a lot and I think they should bring him back. Hell, I'll take a variation of him or a completely new champion with the same kit. Leave any thoughts.

I freaking loved old Galio, he was the true Anti-mage champ. I really didn't see why they reworked him. Only thing I can stand to see change is his laser, put in a different ability there and he is perfect. The passive was also better.

His magic damage healing shield you could cast on yourself or allies was golden.

Nah. Old swain I loved his play style and how you can trick people into fighting you. But he was way too feast or famine. New Swain I love his design, lore, abilities and the fact that he feels like a scary warlock headed into battle. Also I love that I can’t take him into any matchup.

i loved old galio, i dont like the new one much at all. to me it dont feel like the same champ.

in the rework what i wanted is for his magic shield to be able to heal allies.

i made it work with getting item 3174 and i mained him as a support player vs heavy ap comps as a off tank /engage with ult

Honestly, a lot of champions conceptually remained the same in terms of feel and kits. The only rework that created a missing void in my champion list is Aatrox. that champion is BARELY BARELY BARELY even resembling the old champion in terms of playstyle and kit. Literally just his third Q, is like his old Q. Oh and he has a self revive i guess. Aatrox

Galio is pretty much in the same boat though. No MR increasing and healing shield, no movement speed wind, no laser(which sucked tbh), no MR = Bonus AP. Only thing close-ish is his taunt, but his old R was a MUCH better taunt, and was a reliable flash play you could do. He went from being a unique back-line engager to a normal AP Bruiser. He literally went melee for all but 1 ability, which was NOT Galio. Old Galio would kick new Galio's butt any day.

In general it is a BAD IDEA to functionally remove a champion, like Swain Aatrox Galio and to a lesser extent Akali (unless they are like Urgot was and are just bad), because at that point Riot is literally just removing a champion that people have learned to play and love for another champion that looks kinda like them but plays completely different. I can't say much for Evelynn/Irelia/Taric and others, as I never play them, but the same generics apply to them as well, if they aren't bad then just buff or nerf them don't change their entire kit, but if bad then change what NEEDS to be changed. Otherwise don't release a champion just to remove them, because that makes people mad? Not rocket science. Ezreal W was viewed as bad, and that's all they changed, so that was a good job.

Good reworks I think are Warwick, Nunu, and Maokai I.E. Warwick feels like he is an apex predator who stalks his prey now, Nunu feels like a little kid with a giant friend now(Nunu actually exists now, not just Willump), Maokai really captures the twisted treeline feel with his newer R.

Hoping Morde gets a good rework and not a complete overhaul, but I'm pretty sure he will NOT be Morde anymore.
