Shaia, Icewolf of the Freljord

Shaia was born where all ice wolves are born, in the cold wastes of the Freljord. Born to the alphas of the pack, she grew up being taught to lead her pack by her mother and father. She was strong, fast, fierce, but also graceful, elegant, and proud. She cared for her family, her pack, like no other. More than anything however; she was clever, even for an ice wolf, and her pack became feared among the remote settlements for being able to cunningly evade traps, skirt around fences and barriers, and take what food they needed no matter what stood in their way. Under Shaia, the pack of ice wolves thrived.

However, what Shaia could never have understood, is that such acts bring much attention, attention that is not necessarily welcome. Indeed, Shaia and her pack drew the attention of the warrior queen of the ice, Sejuani. Sejuani decided that this legendary pack needed to be confronted. Not for the sake of the settlements, if they cannot survive that is their own problem. No, Sejuani appreciates strength above all else, and news of this seemingly legendary wolf got her excited. Such strength, cunning, and grace in a mere animal. Sejuani decided that Shaia and her pack should be brought to serve her cause, or die for their weakness.

It was with that thought that Sejuani set out, seeking the den of the great ice wolf. It took weeks of tracking, Shaia seemed intelligent enough to teach her pack to cover their tracks as they went, making them almost impossible to follow. Find them she did, however, in a great cave filled with glittering ice crystals. The cave looked as though it had been carved from sparkling blue glass.

Sejuani set about laying a trap. She positioned a few of her best warriors above the mouth of the cave. She then ordered the rest of her unit to bury themselves in the snow to hide their heat and scents. She then hid herself and her boar up to their heads in deep snow. She had noticed earlier that the pack had pups, from the smaller tracks. They would lie in wait and capture the cubs, use them to manipulate the beasts.

They waited, and they waited, and they waited. One of her men froze to death in his snowy coffin, but Sejuani refused to let them budge. Then, just as she predicted, some of the cubs came bounding out of the cave, play fighting. Sejuani gave a nod to her men above the cave and they pounced, grabbing the pups and dashing away from the cave. When they got to Sejuani, only then did they realize that only two of the three men made it. The other was dead, his neck in the huge jaws of Shaia.

Shaia was growling fiercely. They dared attack her pack, her family? This she could not let stand. Shaia let out a howl and her entire pack lunge from the cave, attacking Sejuanis men. Shaia herself lunged at Sejuani, intent on taking back the young pups. Shaias charge was so powerful that it knocked Sejuani off her feet, but the warrior was quick to rebound, grabbing her mighty mace and swinging it square into Shaias chest, sending the wolf flying.

Shaia would not give up however, struggling to her feet, she leaped at Sejuani. Sejuani swung her mighty flail again, causing a could of snow to fly into the air, but there was no wolf beneath the head this time. Shaia ha feinted, leaping back towards the cave, an bounding off the rock wall, coming at Sejuani from the side. Before Sejuani could swing her flail again, Shaia ha clamped down on her arm. Sejuani winced as her arm was broken in the wolfs jaws, but this was not the end. She grabbed her flail with her off hand, an swung it own upon her own arm, and the wolfs head as well. Shaia yelped, and fell back, mortally wounded. As she lay there, dying, she could only watch as Sejuani ordered her men to slaughter the remaining wolves, but take the pups for use in their army.

Whether by fortune or ill fate, Shaias' tale does not end there, for her broken body was happened upon by the Ice Witch, Lyssandra. Lyssandra saw the potential in this mighty beast, the potential to use her in her subtle fight for control of the Freljord. Lyssandra fused all the souls of Shaias' pack into her, healing her wounds, and imbuing her with great power, but also a curse.

She now possessed the strength, the durability, and the speed of her entire pack, but she also possessed their very souls. She felt the the full weight of the death of her pack inside her, the sadness of their spirits running through her. She was filled with a burning vengeance to take down Sejuani, for only then, according to Lyssandra, could her pack rest in peace.

Though being equally as wary of Lyssandra as she was of Sejuani, Shaia knew that her foremost task was vengeance for her family, and as Lyssandra had allowed her the chance to do that, she became a very wary ally. She used her instincts to track Sejuani all the way to the league of legends, where she wants nothing more than to crush the womans' head between her mighty jaws.

Role: Jungle or Top Lane

APPEARANCE: She is a wolf with blue tinting across her fur, piercing ice blue eyes, bright snow white, long flowing fur with blue tinted fur spikes. She is as big if not bigger than Sejuanis boar. When I say long and flowing fur, I think of something like Amaterasu in her divine form as seen in Okami.

Passive: Great hunter: Shaia can hunt and track with the greatest of them. Any enemy she hits with a basic attack or ability becomes marked. For the next X seconds, they are revealed to Shaia, and only Shaia, on the map no matter where they go, and Shaia gains a bonus to move speed when moving towards them.

Rending bite Shaia gnashes her target with her teeth. She deals damage to her target + a percent of her ad and causes bleeding. If the enemy is under 40% hp rending bite also causes grevious wounds.

Lunge Shaia leaps at her target, tearing at them viciously, dealing ad damage and dashing towards them. If the target is marked by great hunter, lunge's dash distance is increased and it can cross impenetrable walls.

Pack mentality: Being a wolf, and an alpha at that, Shaia takes seeing her allies hurt very personally, and she guards then fiercely. Passive: Any ally being hit near her raises her attack speed and move speed by X amount for 5 seconds. This effect can stack 10 times.

Active: grants her an attack that deals damage x the number of stacks she has in pack mentality and a % percent of AD when activated

Spirit of the pack Shaia lets out a powerful howl, calling the very spirits of her slaughtered pack back to the world for a short time and striking fear into foes beyond 600 units but within 2000 units, for up to 4 seconds, and spawns wolves every half second randomly targeting an enemy champion in range dealing damage on impact.

Looks good. Nice to see more animal champions and her kit sounds fun. You might reword the active on Pack Mentality, as is it kinda confused me. Is it's base damage multiplied by the stacks or is the percent of ad?

I know how you feel cause I had to put down my dog puck[named cause he watch the hockey puck] great concept being related to a dog makes the possible champ more personal to dog lovers.

I enjoyed reading your post man. Im not a fan of making non-humanoid champs personally... so reading one makes it all the more interesting. I noticed you got 2 moves that do grievous wounds though. but all in all it was a decent concept. I think you should take a little more time with it though... like for example, I really don't see Shaia surviving in the jungle with her kit unless her AD ratios are CRAZY. I check concepts all the time though, so if you don't mind, add some factors in like Cooldown times, mana/rage/energy cost, if spells do on-hit... LET US SUMMONERS KNOW SOMETHING BRO! Lol j/k

It seems unnecessary for Lunge to also apply grievous wounds. How about making Lunge have an extra effect against champions marked by your passive? (if you need any suggestions, like at my champ idea Hivemind, his entire kit is sorta like that)

Some very good advice on Lunge. I reworded it, please let me know what you think. The move also reinforces her kit as a jungler.

Also, I would add numbers if I felt I understood Jungling numbers well enough, which I do not, so if someone has any ideas for what her damage ratios and damage numbers could be I would love to hear them.

As for her targeting, that I will add soon.

It was supposed to say and a percentage of AD. Its similar to poppys ability

She is named after my companion of 12 years, Shaia, my Siberian Husky. This is my tribute to her memory.
