Hi! Thank you for viewing this post. It means a lot to me to see my peers view my work and to give me constructive criticism. I love creating ideas for champions and I would love to get some feedback on the latest one I've concocted, Iris, the Whip of the Abyss. Please forgive me for not including numbers but I am very bad in that area, this is more just and Idea for a champion. I hope you enjoy, and please, feel free to comment or upvote if you did enjoy it, thank you!

Lore: "Amidst the creatures of the void, none are as nimble as Iris." She was born human, to her loving parents, she was a miracle. Born in Shurima, life had been a struggle for them for a great while. Trying to survive the onslaughts of attacks from the Noxians during the tides of war almost left them with nothing. Although they survived, the worst was yet to come. Upon the burning buildings they used for shelter, a sudden rip in the sky sent forth vessels of unspeakable horrors that consumed the very land they now treaded. Unable to hide, her mother sacrificed herself to keep her husband and daughter safe. But as they fled, a horrid creature burst forth from the sand and took infant Iris out of her father's hands.

This creature brought Iris back through the portal, intending to feed it's young. But the energy inside of this void caused great power to burst forth from Iris, demolishing the area around her, creating a rift that transported her back. But she was no longer in Shurima, or entirely human. She was found by drifters belonging to the Demacian army. They raised her to the best of their ability. When she became of age to wield and learn how to use weapons, she insisted that she learned to fight to help protect the people from the same atrocities that took her family away from her. Her weapon of choice is a whip she has enchanted with the magical energy she has obtained from the void. Now, she has joined the League of Legends to help protect her people... and to search for her father.

Abilities:

Passive: Enchanted Whip: Iris' basic attacks deal bonus magic damage, this damage increases with each unit that she kills up to a cap, each unit she kills gives her 1 stack of Essence Magic (Max 100 stacks)

Q: Latching Whip: Iris lunges her whip in a skill shot that strikes the first enemy hit, snaring them for a short duration, if you re-activate this ability once an enemy is struck, Iris will pull herself behind the latched enemy. If this ability is used while Void slayer is activated, she instead swings her whip around her, dealing AoE damage and slowing all enemies struck.

W: Vengeance: (Passive) Gives Iris bonus attack speed. (Active) Basic attacks slow your opponent and increase your movement speed for a short duration. If this ability is used while Void Slayer is activated, Iris gains a massive attack speed bonus.

E: Mana Lash: Iris swings her whip in a short range cone, damaging and knocking back enemies, if an enemy champion is struck with this ability, she is refunded mana equal to twice the amount of Essence Magic stacks she has. If this ability is used while Void Slayer is activated, Iris dashes in the direction of your cursor, if she collides with an enemy, she deals damage, refunding mana and slowing the enemy.

R: Void Slayer: Iris consumes all of her current stacks of Essence Magic to transcend into a state of pure void energy. Upon activation, this ability does AoE damage, plus bonus damage equal to twice the amount of Essence magic stacks she consumed. She also gains significant mana regeneration, decreased cooldowns on all of her abilities, and all of her basic abilities are replaced with Void Slayer modified versions.

Thanks for reading! And feel free to let me know what opinions you guys have, or what I can do to possibly make her better!

Overall, I love the lore and the kit, but, in my opinion, the Essence Magic would take far too long to stack, only to get rid of it entirely once the ultimate is used. Either she should gain stacks passively per few seconds, or the ultimate should only consume half the stacks (but do 4x the amount consumed).

Good job~

Overall interesting my question is she ranged or melee she does have a whip but they don't go as far as say a gun or arrow /crossbow bolt so please enlighten me on that

Option 1 I also agree that the ult should not consume the stacks unless they are easier to obtain be it by time or more per killing of units ( I like permanent things ). Option 2 Or the other option would be to make it a new resource. Take away the mana adjust the cooldowns and give certain powers to each ability for using the "essence" collected for example how your ult currently does just for the cost of essence for the empowered abilities. The ult would make the abilities free of cost and last x seconds changing them to the empowered versions. Option 3 and my favorite :Another variant could be use the abilities each ability gives you so many essence stolen from targets building up towards the ult still the same.No mana make essence a resource. so q gives say 10 essence w gives a small essence steal per hit as a passive instead of passive attack speed ( leave active but make it a bit higher) e gives essence per target hit to a max of say 30 keep the ult as is as this would allow her to change forms based on a lower cooldown since it is a resource build up ult like shyvanna or gnar passive

What her mother is the one that sacrifices herself instead of the father. Bad father in my opinion.
