Unimplemented Champions?

I stumbled upon this Character Select flash menu, all with League of Legend characters. If you explore a little, you can find some that weren't implemented. I'm sure this person was a former Riot employee. Some of these champions were renamed (Narib Newmaiss was renamed as Zilean, Priscilla was renamed as Elise) but some of them are all new (Tabu, Averdrian, Gavd, Cholenil, Rob Blackblade). I believe that these were champions that were supposed to be implemented, but were never released, and thus leading me to believe that Riot could release some of them as future champions.

Well, Cholenil is Ashe, it seems. Tabu, Averdrian, Gavid and Rob are already known (they were datamined a long time ago). You can find them in the wiki.

I wonder though, what is this thing? Is that official? The UI is a little odd, but I wouldn't be surprise if it really was an official tests that one of the animators published online years ago, considering all these place holder names and the oldest of Kassadin icons (Which I've never seen before). How did you get to that link?

EDIT: Woah. I just checked this guy's site, and that's pretty official. Some nice bits of information we didn't have before. Would be nice to add it to the wiki. Thanks for sharing this.

A lot of champions never make it past the concept stage and not everything that gets a model will be released. http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Champion/Champion_Updates If you scroll a bit down you get a list of almost all the canceled champs that we know of.

many times these concepts get picked up later on and reworked.Priscilla the spider queen eventually turned into Elise after over a year,Gavid the plant king pretty much became Maokai and Zyra,etc. there was also some info about Azir&Ekko long before they were released,Azir was originally going to be Seth the sand mage and Ekko was originally called developed under the name tempus.
