Suggestions on How to Improve the lvling+blue essence system
Hello. I am a pretty casual player, but I play this game a lot, so please try to take into consideration the ideas I present. (NOTE: most of the numbers and names in this post are simply theories and place holders. If tweaking them helps balance and make this system feel better, that is not a big deal to me.)
Right now in it's current state, I think the blue essence system kind of sucks. It isn't rewarding at all, and for people who want to play more expensive characters but don't have the funds to just buy them with rp, or people who just think its ridiculous to have to play real money to play the base characters of the game, it feels like crap. I have a few ideas on how to improve it though:
A: Bring Back Getting the Main Currency for Wins Now, I did not play with IP for very long, but I do remember getting it for winning games. I think that this should be introduced back into the game so that winning and getting blue essence feels more rewarding. It would be nice for new players because they feel a sense of progression and like they are reaching the goal of getting the characters they want gradually instead of every couple hours praying that they don't get crap out of a Champion Capsule. Now, these numbers are just rough estimates or place holders, but I think this would be a good system:
- Win: 100 blue essence
- Loss: 25 blue essence
- Aram Win: 50 blue essence
- Aram Loss: 0 blue essence
- TFT win: 50 blue essence
- TFT loss: 0 blue essence I also think it would be a good idea to be rewarded for your grade, whether you win or you lose the game.
- B- and under: 0
- B: 10
- B+:15
- A-: 20
- A: 25
- A+ :30
- S- and above: 35
- Aram: B- and below = 0 blue essence and B and above = 10 blue essence
- TFT: Top four = 10 blue essence
B: Make it so that You Can't Get Extremely Small Amounts out of Champ Capsules at High Levels Being level 199 and getting and Udyr shard, a Ryze shard and 150 blue essence from your Champion Capsule feels pretty bad, especially if you are saving for a specific champ. My way to combat this is to make it so that you can't get trash out of your Capsules at higher levels. Here's my idea on how that could be executed:
- After hitting lvl 75, for leveling up, instead of getting average Champion Capsules, you get Refined Champion Capsules. These Refined capsules only drop 1350 shards and up.
- After hitting lvl 150, for leveling up, instead of getting Refined Champion Capsules, you get Pristine Refined Champion Capsule. These Pristine Refined Champion Capsules only drop 3150 shards and up.
Now, here are some ideas to try to balance it out a little bit. While one of my intentions was to make getting blue essence a little easier, I think it is more important to make it feel rewarding while not having it too easy.
- Make shards disenchant for less. Keep 450, 1350, and 3150 the same, but maybe lower 4800 shards from its current 960 to like 850 or 840, and 6300 champs from its current number to maybe a flat 1000. Another thing you could do instead of this is maybe raise the upgrade to champ permanent price of blue essence.
- Make it so that you can't get just a flat amount of blue essence out of a Champ Capsule, like for example just dropping 150 blue essence and not a champ shard.
- Make things at the essence emporium cost a bit more to make up for blue essence being a little easier to get now
- Remove the blue essence from daily quests
- Lower blue essence gain from event quests
- What you could do, if you go through with the reducing of the blue essence gained from disenchanting capsules, is make is so that Glorious Champion Capsules can only drop 4800 and 6300 shards say at maybe a 70/30 chance, and they can only drop two shards in total from each capsule. If it drops a Gemstone, it is added on to your drops, and doesn't replace a champ shard.
So yeah, those are some ways I believe you can improve the blue essence system and make it easier to get and more rewarding without making it way to easy to get. Again, all the numbers/names were pretty much just placeholders, but I hope at least some of these ideas are taken into decent consideration.
