Concept for Zelos
So, I recently came across the lore and all for Zelos and got excited as to who he was and what he could be. I know that Riot tries to make each champion added to the game bring something new, and while I can't offer much in the ways of specific abilities I have in mind, I think that I've come up with an interesting concept that currently doesn't exist.
We've always had basic auto attacks that maybe have an additive due to a passive like Braum or Tahm, but what if the auto attack itself was what made the champ different? If Zelos' AA locked onto targets, and while they were in his AA range, he dealt constant damage to them, similar to Fiddle's Drain, but with no health regen. I would imagine that it would have to have similar to slightly less dps due to the constant damage. That would certainly bring something new that can be toyed with to have interesting Interactions in gameplay.
Of course, that would add a whole range of questions about what attack speed would do on him, but energy champs forgo mana stats on items, so maybe he could completely anull attack speed when an item with it is bought.
Another option for what I think attack speed could do on him is if his dps on his autos start off low, only doing a percent of his attack damage, attack speed would bring his dps percentage up to somewhere between 95-110% (from about 60% initially) of his attack damage.
Now, what would a champion be without a weapon, save Jax? There's only one glaive that I can think of in league, being wielded by Hecarim, and seeing a double-ended glaive being essentially metal-bended in circles due to Hiten style would be low-key the coolest animation in the game, aside from Baron eating the Rift Herald if he's still there when Baron spawns (Which Im STILL waiting for btw...)
I can only imagine the bugs with him due to spaghetti code early on in PBE, but I would totally shell out to buy the RP, or play the heck out of the game for IP, to buy this guy as soon as he came out, and imagine the possible skins!
I'd like to know what other people think of this idea and what it could do well and what could be improved upon in general. :)
