An idea to tone down jungle presence in lane (camping/barely farming/etc)

The first thing that comes to mind is just buffing the jgl monster XP gain a bit for junglers and make it so if smite is detected all other xp gained is greatly reduced

But what really should be done is one of the 2 things: One is a bit more challenging to pull off and the other is a blast from the past with a cherry on top

The challenging one would be to just rework the entire jungle (not the wall/bush placement):

  • Expand jungle plant spawn locations
  • Make smiting something you do strategically rather than "press to gain hp button and kill monster on command"(like before when you would get vision from wolves)
  • Make it so drakes give you temporary buffs and not permanent stacking ones
  • Make jungle monsters more challenging/interesting to fight
  • Scuttler should be a pain to deal with so it can force junglers to lose a bit of time instead of camping a lane
  • Killing scuttle with smite should give temporary resistances instead of massive xp/gold gains on kill early, so it is not something you contest or fight over but rather something that is used to make ganks happen/telegraph an incoming gank
  • Red and Blue buffs should have attacks you need to dodge in order to not take heavy damage instead of only auto attacking you
  • While on the topic of attacks you need to doge, Baron should do way more damage (not TFT drake kinds of damage but not too far off)
  • Baron buff in general should stay the same although through my experience of playing Twisted Treeline, Vilemaw buff is something i like more than Baron buff due to it still giving enemy a chance even if killing Vilemaw isn't really that easy cuz it actually uses some abilities that make it a challenge to kill if not insanely fed

OR You could go with that blast of the past route (with a cherry on top) and do a bit less meaningful changes like:

  • Reverting Dark Harvest so junglers have to spend more time in the jungle in order to deal damage
  • Reverting Yi's q but keeping the instant cast
  • Nerfing Shyvana's E AP scaling by at least 10-20% so she cannot oneshot you later in the game with dark harvest
  • Making all jungle items have special effects again if stacked/sated, and having their stats be the reward for sating a jungle item
  • Re-adding Trackers knife and making the sated effect to change the active from placing regular wards to placing control wards and giving 10 adaptive force per a stack of a ward (by stack i mean X out of X, max number of wards was 3 on trackers from what i remember) so a Lee Sin can't just come and oneshot you without losing some of the bonus damage from trackers

That would be it This is my opinion and what I think would make jungling not only more enjoyable for junglers but less frustrating for laners to deal with, if you go with a challenging route, as junglers would have to spend a bit more time in the jungle to fight monsters and get the xp to gank someone while also not having 100% HP cuz they smited any monster.

Again this is my opinion, not everyone will agree but at least I hope all will understand the reasoning behind it
