I love this idea, and would love to help you expand on it. As far as how it would be picked, it would be cosmetic for one person, like they would see halloween summoners rift. Void Summoners Rift (map that looks like the void? O.o? But it wouldn't affect gameplay at all other than making it look cool, and probably- changing the minions to look different. melee could be skeletons with hammers, ranged could be ghosts, cannoners meat wagons! Super minions could be giant zombies. etc! wolves could look like dire wolves that are rabid. dragon can look shadowy. etc!
How would it work though? Would you have to buy them? If so would everyone be seeing the same map? If that's the case who picks the map? etc. etc.
@ Chicken Sailor, Id definitely, gladly, drop 20 dollars into a new map skin, perhaps it would be better if they came as a pack for all the maps? like halloween theme, void theme, etc. I definitely think it would be worth it to riot, the effort might not pay off in money, necessarily, but it would keep, and attract- many new people to League of Legends, so in the long run I believe it would be a worthy investment to them. and perhaps 20 dollars just for the new map skin, 15 dollars for new minion and monster skins, 5 dollars for new turret skins, etc. I mean, people spend money on WARD skins, they'd definitely be hungry for new skins on turrets, minions, monsters, and the map. Imagine candy corn bushes! or Santa turrets! lol!
That would be an awesome idea. What would also be nice is if that if there's a majority using the map skin in your game, then everyone gets to see it. If not, then just you lol. I think map skins would sell
