Polynesian Hero

Hi All,

I think its nice to get ideas from specific regions/cultures of the world. If the next concept of champion can be from the Polynesian islands. I dunno if Ilaoi counts but a male version of a fighter or jungle would be nice..Thoughts?..

Yeah, nah?

Pretty sure this game sticks mostly to its own Lore.

Yeah i know but they could relate the story to the Lore. Just the concept of the Hero would be polynesian features...

Frejlord is based on nordic people. Shurima is ancient egypt. Etc. I think more native/aboriginal/oceanic people should be included visually. They missed their chance with rakan and xayah. The writers said they were based on maori, burmese tribe, and first nation people. But their appearance says otherwise. The intention is there but superficial (and respectful) epresentation imo would be nice.

Illaoi definitely counts, but it'd be nice to have another polynesian champion :P personally i'd like to see another clearly Asian female xD or maybe a mixed looking character (something like, Blonde haired asian looking? idk xD cuz same) or maybe a black girl? i thought Karma was black for a while, but i guess she's Indian?

I think Illaoi covers the Pacific Islander trope. Though champions based off of more native cultures could be interesting. Hell, I even made two champion concepts with one vaguely based off of Aztec culture and the other based off of Native American folklore.

Having polynesians would be a unique addition to the variety of champions already existing in the game, especially if they were somewhat to a degree implemented into bilgewater lore. The lore is very flexible, capable enough of allowing more champions to be addded and prosper. Not only will it attract a greater branch of new players, it may bring back old ones, who are interested in such a unique character (especially those of Polynesian ancestry). Race and origin of a champion plays a powerful factor into whom a player plays, and are very likely to choose those set of characters. A polynesian champion would be especially groundbreaking for players in oceania, who have longed wanted to play a champion long over due, especially since minority groups are underrepresented. Having a champion represent something similar in nature to the player will make them attractive and thus, as mentioned earlier, would attract and keep more players. More expansive lore equals much more immersive game play. It would be really fun to play a champion thats kinda like you. And would probably make me more inclined to want to buy skins of said champion.
