Mastery Ranking and Ranked game mode.

I've been playing league of legends for the past two or three years and an avid fan, I think I speak for plenty of us when we hate to see someone who doesn't know what they're doing on a champion, or base line game play, in a Ranked game, then proceed to lose said game because of it. I propose that we use the Mastery system as a form of matchmaking in the future and instead of unlocking Ranked mode at level 30, we should have to earn rank five Mastery on at least five separate champions to use ranked mode and ONLY be able to use said rank five champions, thus, you know what you're doing, your team knows you know what you're doing and no one has the argument of "Are you sure you know what you're doing?". Thoughts? Opinions?

Dude, I'm Silver IV with 500K Mastery 7 Ashe. Sure, I'm not as clueless as someone who just hit level 30, but I used to get comments like "Level 7 Ashe can't do shit" just because I had a bad game - and they happen. What's worse, the Mastery System has absolutely nothing to do with skill. Prime example - an Ashe player in Korea (I think) with 6 MILLION+ mastery points - you'd think he's the Faker of Ashe mains with so much experience, but... He plays worse than me. And he is Gold, or at least used to be.

Then we get to smurfs - they know exactly what they're doing, but you're gonna restrict them in the same way? Doesn't work.

In other words - you just try to delay the inevitable. Someone who's in Silver or lower is mediocre at best even on his main. And mastery 0, mastery 5 or mastery 50 doesn't change that. "Are you sure you know what you're doing?" gets asked more often when someone has a bad game and in very impolite ways; having a mastery badge is just going to pour more oil in the fire.
