I think that seeing a Dyrus skin for any top lane champ would be an amazing tribute to an amazing player. I'm sad to see him go after a long time of watching his but truly he deserves this. Maybe a singed skin because of his famous spam laugh early on. Or maybe a Darius Dyrus skin just because it is a funny play on words. I just want to see something so he can be remembered by the community as not only being a great player but a great person. He never shut up the hate, he tried to change their minds about him and that is extremely honorable. Although this will never happen because they didn't win i just wish there was something we could do for him, after all he has done a lot for us.

Would be nice, but I doubt Riot wants to start a precedence where every super famous Retired pro gets a skin. Then it becomes too subjective and the boards flare up with "WHERE IS X'S RETIREMENT SKIN!?"

While I understand the concerns of 'if Dyrus gets one, people will scream that their favorite pro player should have one!' and those concerns are valid, I still want to throw my weight behind this thought of a skin for Dyrus.

It sort of reminds me of, forgive the hardcore nerding for a moment, the Magic Hall of Fame. The players chosen to get rings are chosen not just based on how many tournaments they win, but also to an extent their personality, impact on the game, and what they've done to push the game forward and promote it and it's evolution.

Dyrus has been, from what I've seen, the rock.

He's been that guy you want on your team who's just...he's just there. He's consistent and stoic, at least after a fashion. He may get super-mega-ultra camped, but from what I've seen he's not the type to just afk at base when that happens. He knows what he needs to do, and even if it's tough, he does it for the team.

He has flaws, as everyone does, but I think at least certain aspects of his personality represent desirable traits in a League player. You WANT a consistent laner, someone who's not gonna ping constantly for ganks because the enemy jungler showed once, or because he died once. You want someone who's there, who's your rock. Who's gonna attempt to do his or her job come hell or high water because they know that's what's expected of them, and if and/or when they screw up, they're gonna take that feedback and they're gonna try to improve.

I mean for the love of all that is holy....some of the times he's been ganked and camped? Man...that would break ANYONE. He never seems to break. He seems to just stay strong and do what he can for his team. We'd all like that on our team, and let's be honest: we could all stand to be a little more like the Grand Sensei and take our losses and setbacks with stoicism instead of rage and salt.

Bottom line is that I think a skin for a professional player that has made an impact, and has traits we, and Riot, would like to see in more League players, wouldn't be a bad idea.

I would love a Dyrus skin for Singed. Seriously, that'd be awesome. The shield could be his pillow and everything.

Interesting idea. Only issue is if you do this for Dyrus, you will see other people all want them for their favorite players. You kind of need to just stick with the world champs team skins otherwise these boards will get hostile

but we should do it for all legendary players for their mains - faker leblanc or zed when he retire, doublelift vayne, alex ich ryze etc etc

Just putting in my two cents.

What if Riot instated an annual Player of the Year Skin, that the fans/player base gets to choose.

After worlds each year (just cause that's the end of the season) riot puts up a site (like the pick em site) where you get to vote for one of the ~80 players at worlds to be player of the year. You could even have a subvote for the champion after the player is decided. (Eg. Dyrus: Singed Darius or something along those lines.)

I think this could work because it A: takes out that whole "how do we define worthiness of a skin" and B: is just a great way to honour pro gamers for the sport we all play.

"Founding Fathers" skin bundle --(I think it'd be good to keep the champ relevant to the season they retired) -Dyrus(either gnar, mao kai, olaf, singed, or darius) -HotshotGG(Nidalee?) -Hai(I know he's jungler atm, but.... how could it be anyone other than Zed? Plus he did play Zed in the Spring split) -WeiXiao(Ez, Vayne, or Kalista) -Lemon(Morgana most likely, or Braum to give him some more skin love)

i think it has to be singed Singed that was one of the classics for him. now here is why i believe he deserves it. not only did he play in every worlds since season one but he has put more time more energy and lets face it top lane would never be the same with out some one proxy farming (like dyrus) on singed. he also liked tanks also a singed trait. however about the other retired players i dont think many have had an impact like he has besides hotshot calling the first lane swap or Reggie for the forming of tsm. yellow star would be the only other i could logically see besides faker cause he honestly is the one we set the bar to for all time that is my personal opinion though

What if there's a Dyrus champ, where once you get you top outer tower, you just stop playing. That will resonate the Dyrus spirit

I think that would work only if Riot implemented a Hall of Fame for retired pro players and the people that were inducted got a skin or something along those lines. don't get me wrong. I do think he should get a skin, but people would complain about why other pros aren't getting skins. so yeah. a hall of fame would be the best way

Only problem with having a specified player skin is that there would have to be a ton more of them because there are many other worthy candidates. DId he help pioneer an entire esports scene? Yes. However there are a ton of others that have done the same i.e Hotshot would need a skin since he basically created an entire gaming organization and is one of the most influential players. Would regi need a skin? Yes. Basically what im saying is as much as i would love to see a dyrus skin we would also have to make skins for the others who helped pioneer league to what it is today. I think it would be cool if they had a LOL hall of fame and 1 person is inducted each year and they get a special skin for their favorite champion.
