Champion Skin Idea: Beat Box Bard

Any Hip-Hop fans out there?? My boy Bard is totally one of us. Bard's walk always reminded me of the sway of the old school rappers back in the day. My idea is to see a skin similar to DJ Sona's! DJ Sona needs another DJ themed skin to pair with in my opinion. The custom songs in-game should be an option for at least one other champion! Hence I really want Bard to have a skin with a similar ability. Bard I feel is specifically suited to be the next "DJ"/"In-Game Music Altering" champion!

I really like this idea. Brings back some memories. I have a couple thoughts on this.

When you say meeps as mix-tapes, do you mean the meeps themselves, the scroll pick-ups, or both? I really like the idea of having Mixtapes as pick-ups; I'm just wondering how that would look to have mixtapes hopping behind him, unless you thought of another way for bard to display that he has his (meeps) mixtapes ready for his auto. Why you'd want to throw perfectly good tapes at people is beyond me.
Regarding the first thought, I think it would be really amazing if it was made in such a way that over time, picking up more tapes (scrolls) slowly unlocks more music. I feel like this would make it more of an ultimate skin than anything.
I'm not sure what what Q or E would look like, but I think since it's Beat Box Bard, at the very least either his shrines (W) or his R should be a cardboard box on the ground :P

I'll update this if I come up with anymore thoughts / ideas I come up with. Really good idea though :D

In hindsight I should have said that the "Chimes" should be mix-tapes while the Meeps themselves maybe forming a "crew" as he collects more chimes/mix-tapes? I mean the more popular your mix-tape is (the more you collect) the more people you'll have wanting to be in your "crew" so having the Meeps look like some sort of following would be pretty cool. The visuals for the Meeps is still a question for sure though.. the term lil' homies comes to mind. Would love to see little bucket hat Meeps with lil' gold chains or something.

I really like the idea of as you collect more mix-tapes you slowly unlock more music! Each mix-tape should add a different element to a song each time you collect one. For example the first mix-tape you pickup adds a low bass sound, then the second adds a high-hat, the third adds a drum beat, etc.

I hadn't put much thought into what his individual abilities would look like but now that you mention it.. His W should absolutely be cardboard boxes! Possibly having the usual "blooming" animation be the actual flattening out of the box? Kinda like it's ready to dance on once it's had time to set up. There are a lot of references to gold in hip-hop so for his Q he could shoot out a gold chain, for every champion hit the chain links them, and the usual stun associated with the ability could have the gold chain wrapped around the champion for the duration of the stun. The E could simply be a huge speaker at the entrance to the portal? Just thinking of circular 90's music references haha. Finally the R could be in the shape of a record, kind of referencing how an artist can have a track go "Platinum"? Hopefully that makes sense.

Whatever thoughts you might have would be super appreciated! If not for the success of the skin than for my own satisfaction completing my imaginary image of Beat Box Bard!

Hmm. I like the flattening out idea, but what should the box do once it's stepped on? I'm not sure how you could animate a flat looking box when it's already flat. Also I really like the idea of the record as his ult, and it could play the record scratch noise when it hits champions, kinda like when you stop the music :P.

The chains as well as the speaker at the beginning of a portal could work, but I feel like changing bards stun to look like a chain might make it lose some clarity as to what it does, and might feel awkward to other players. As for the speaker, to be perfectly honest, I don't feel like it makes that much sense. Generally we don't walk through speakers. Changing the way it looks / its colors / its sound effects to be something more akin to a soundwave / shockwave might work. Beyond that, I don't have any ideas for that specific spell. I'll have to think about it more

Could make the Q look like some kind of soundwave, from the beatbox. The E could be almost like a crazy colored one, almost as if someone was high or 90's colors xD. The ult could even be where it as the area/indication of a speaker and then when it hits, almost like pops up just like a speaker might look if it plays. I like the idea of picking up mixtapes and that might decide type of music avaliable (good idea for Ultimate skin). Maybe his heal could be an orb like normal, but it moves/changes color with the music. His following meeps could be like normal meeps, but with backward ball-caps. I think if they did a majority of the effects with a neon-green look (like Ekko, sorta), it'd be a decent skin. Another crazy idea would be if his Taunt would be him sitting next/on the stero as it plays. Finally, his recall could be him dancing to his own beatbox or goes along with the music as it plays.

Yeah, breakdancing would be better (idk much about beatboxing lol) for that. If Riot really wanted to, they could make this Bard's Legendary or Ultimate skin. Even be cool if the effects change color with song like DJ Sona and they move with the beat (like the heals). Could be like Red mode, but it has bits of blue shift. Then when switch to like Green, has bits of another color.

This sounds insanely badass. For those of you looking for a frame of reference, although Riot could do way way better with Bard, in Smite there is a skin called Bassdrop Janus or Heaven's Rave Zeus, they are insanely cool and play music with speaking looking effects. Could be awesome on Bard.

I was thinking of something similar - except more like Breakdance Bard. Same Boombox/Ghettoblaster on his shoulders. The dance could be a Michael Jacksonish moonwalk / Billie Jean / lock and move routine. And so on. But not too far from your idea...

Unfortunately, ultimate skins are meant to have several unique properties, so I doubt custom music will appear on another skin.

Yes and I would love to do the sounds for it if they do do it. I am a professional beatboxer who has spent countless hours on this game and I would love to be a part of it!!!!
