Ranked 1v1?

There is Ranked 5v5 and Ranked 3v3, I see no reason why there shouldn't be a ranked 1v1.

Especially for those who believe their individual skill is much better than their rank shows them to be because of teams dragging them down. It gives lower ELO players a chance to show that maybe they are stuck in bronze because of their teams, it also will go a long way to give a lot of people a dose of reality when they can't climb out of bronze with no teammates to bring them down and then maybe they will focus on improving themselves rather than blaming others.

In any case a game mode that demonstrates individual skill and rewards that player based on that skill would be much welcomed in the league community so I would like to suggest the creation of a ranked 1v1 system.

The first thing to address in making the 1v1 is the rules, so I have come up with a set of rules I deem most fair for ranked 1v1's.

First set of rules:_ Win Conditions_

  1. First to 2 kills

  2. First to 150 cs

  3. First to take the enemies turret

Second set of rules:_ Matchmaking_

  1. Both players will have access to the same chat and can chat with each other before the game starts

  2. Both players will each be able to ban 3 champions

  3. The players can agree to do a certain champ vs a certain champ if they both agree to it before the timer runs out, if the timer runes out and the players have not reached an agreement a random champion will be selected and both players will play that champion

  4. The players will receive a minute do the first half of champ select and a minute to do their runes and masteries in case they are not prepared for the randomly selected champion

Third set of rules: Ranks

  1. The ladder will work the same as any other game modes ladder with ranks starting from bronze and ending with challenger

Additional thoughts and information

First and foremost I want to say that the rules I setup are my opinions on the ideal 1v1 and may be far from perfect. If you have any feedback on what should be changed I would love to hear it and would appreciate a comment below explaining what should be changed and why you think it should be changed.

Now I will go through a couple of rules that may have seemed confusing or I think most people will disagree with.

1. The first thing I would like to call attention to and I am sure you reading this already have your own thoughts on is the first rule I listed which was the "first to 2 kills wins", generally in 1v1's it has been to first blood but I have played many 1v1's and from experience the extra death allows for exciting comebacks and a more skill based match in case someone gets caught of guard by a surprising amount of burst or something of the sort.

Kinda an extension of the issue i raised above, usually in the 1v1's I have done myself we do not have the cs rule in place so I am not quite sure if the 50 cs buff out weighs or under weighs the extra death, I will test this 1v1 setup in some live games going for cs and edit it appropriately later.

2. I just want to iron out and make rule 3 in the second set of rules more clear so hear is a much clearer explanation of how the champ select will work: After both players have banned 3 champions they will have access to chat with each other, their they will be able to hover over champions and talk to each other for 60 seconds(this time might potentially be edited later if the it ends up being too of an amount of time), in this first period they will be able to choose different champions to 1v1 on and if they come to an agreement on a fair match up between the two champions they have picked, both players will check off a ready button when both ready buttons are checked there will be a 5 second cancel time before the runes and mastery phase begins, however if the two players cannot reach an agreement a random champion both players own will be selected for them(they both get the same champion) and they will be forced to 1v1 on that champion.

I have just a couple of side notes for this one being the number of bans, I am not sure if 3 is optimal, maybe it should be 1 or 2 since there are alot less players then the normal 5v5. Another thing is that maybe having the summoner spells of the players be visible to the enemy, just food for thought, as or right now I am not sure that is a good idea but the system is far from perfect as of right now.

IF YOU HAVE ANY CLARIFICATION QUESTIONS, FEEDBACK, OR IDEAS PLEASE LEAVE THEM IN THE COMMENTS :)
