A Open-World RPG set in Runeterra

A game where you can travel through Runeterra, visit famous places like Noxus, Demacia or Bandle City, create your own unique "Champion", buy Hextech-Augmentions for yourself in Piltover and fight famous characters from the League of Legends universe. I think that everyone who plays LoL and likes the lores behind the champions would support such a idea. I mean who would not like to fight with e.g. with GarenGaren and JavanJarvanIV against a army of soldiers from Noxus lead by DariusDarius and DravenDraven or hunt down some criminals vith ViVi and CaitlynCaitlyn .

Thats just a idea I had and wanted to present this to you guys.

What do you mean by "open-world?" To me, that can mean anything from "there's one set story but look at how big the world is!" to "You literally have no obligations and can do whatever quests/missions/goofing off you want."

" buy Hextech-Augmentions for yourself in Piltover " or play as a mage, warrior, etc.

So, I think an MMO would work better, because a few reasons:

  • By classic norms, MMO's more frequently change, patch, upgrade, and expand. I don't think that they could deliver on the fantasy of exploring all of Runeterra in a singleplayer game without a really long development cycle.

  • MMO's can reasonably be free, unlike games like Skyrim, and have the payment burden on those who wish to shoulder it by buying skins or swords or whatever- I'm aware paying for extra content, even cosmetic content, is an unpopular model, but it works, and when well handled, doesn't screw anybody.

  • Since this idea does not have us playing as champions or specific characters, it doesn't step on verisimilitude's toes too much.

  • PvP is cool.

What are your thoughts, random strangers?

Runeterra is just too diverse and unique a place to consider that. Plus the lore isn't nearly as well thought out or as long lasting as comparably successful franchises (Blizzard games, namely Warcraft's lore can fill a good sized walls worth of shelves). Plus not all their iconic champions and villains are as mashed up together like lols are.

I'm already playing my League dream in Skyrim... Made Kat, added her voice lines and I just kill people for fun! What else could I want? If Riot make a game where I play Kat and kill Garen, then I'll agree they given more something I was missing x]
