Aya, The Blood Forge (Champion Concept)

A Brief Summary:

Aya uses her mobility and versatility to fulfill one of many damage roles as a Bloodmage Assassin. She combines her many proficiencies to outmaneuver and take down opponents using a combination of blood magic, her own blood as weaponry, run and gun with duel pistols, and technology to store her excess blood as crystalized "Blood Plates" mounted on her back.

Lore:

Aya hails from a relativly unknown race called the Bloodforge, a humanoid species who's ancient ancestors abilities acted as the basis for the magic now used by Vladimir. They are a solitary race whose bodies are completely composed of blood of their victims held together by magic. They must regularly kill in order to replenish their body-mass and thus their life. Aya is a young one and is one of the last remaining of the race. One day stumbled into Piltover, completely oblivious to society. After taking someone's life and draining them dry, there are two ways that I see her story going to get where she is today.

Option 1: After a long and difficult process, she is finally detained by Piltover police when they capture her in a watertight metal cell. Noting that she is of a rare species, they cannot kill her or it would upset many communities. Caitlyn realizes that her natural abilities may just be what they need to catch Jinx , and as Aya is still in her developmental years, she could quite easily be taught about the world and to not go around killing innocent civilians. Caitlyn introduces Aya to firearms, as a method of reducing the amount of blood she expends in combat and thus how many lives she has to claim in order to sustain herself. Limited arrangements are set up with city states that employ capital punishment (such as Noxus) in order to secure a blood supply to sustain herself. Piltover technicians develop tech to store excess blood as a combat mechanism so she can stay in the city for a longer period of time without having to make journeys to the other states to resupply. She now pursues Jinx alongside Caitlyn and Vi.

Option 2: During one of her kills, she stumbles onto the scene of a robbery by none other than Jinx herself. Jinx takes her with her and the two bond over their thirsts for chaos, destruction, and mayhem. Jinx begins taking Aya on jobs with her as they steal (in addition to the usual stuff) firearms, which Jinx shows Aya how to use, and specialized liquid crystalization tech, which with a little tinkering, gets converted for Aya's use. Ever since then at the scene of one of Jinx's.... scenes... one or more unidentifiable bodies can be found, shriveled up and devoid of liquids.

Appearance:

Aya has full control of blood that makes up her body, and thus functions similarly to a liquid based shapeshifter, similar to Terminator 2's T 1000. The form she normally takes is that of a young teenage female (around her actual age) with white hair and blood red eyes. She exhibits some of the traits that Vladimir has, and he uses magic based on her abilities, but they share little relation with each other.

Abilities: Range: Melee Attack Animation: She transforms one of her arms into a blade, slashes with it, and transforms it back all in one motion. Note: I designed all abilities that use tech to rely on mana, and all blood based abilities to rely on health, and in one case, both.

Passive:

Blood Plating: Each enemy aya kills is drained dry, healing her and giving her 1 blood plate (double heal and plates for champion kill or assists). Each plate gives armor and magic resist. She starts the game with 0. Each autoattack causes her to lose a bit of blood, draining her health

Self heal on unit kill: 5 (+2x level) (+.3 AD) (+5% max health) Max plates: 8 Armor/Mr per plate: 1/2/3/4 (scales with ult rank) Autoattack health drain: 1% current health

Q:

Draw/Hunter Pistols: First Cast: 1 second stationary channel, Aya draws her pistols.

Cost: None Cooldown: 5s, starts when she holsters them.

All subsequent casts: Instant line skillshot that deals physical damage to the first enemy hit and applying on-hit effects (including crit) as a melee, and no health drain penalty from the passive. Normal autoattacks, activating other abilities, hard CC (basically anything but a slow), or not firing for a few seconds will cause her to holster her pistols.

Damage per shot: 40/55/70/85/100 (+.9/+.95/+1/+1.05/+1.1 Bonus AD) Cost per shot: 30/35/40/45/50 mana Cooldown between shots: 2s/1.75s/1.5s/1.25s/1s CD No shot holster time: 5/7/9/11 (based on ult rank)

W:

Blood Pool/Ichorous Teleportation: First Cast: Aya throws a large amount of blood to target location, creating a pool slowing enemies for while they remain in it. The ability can be reactivated within 5 seconds

Slow amount: 25%/30%/35%/40%/45% Cost: 5% current health Cooldown: 20/19/18/17/16

Second Cast: She teleports to the pool of blood dealing physical damage in an area on arrival and removing the pool.

Damage: 25/55/85/115/145 (+.7 Total AD) (+.4 AP) Reactivation Cost: 5% current health

E:

Battering Helix: Aya creates a spinning wedge with her plates and charges in a straight line in target direction, stopping at the first wall or enemy hit. If she hits an enemy, she knocks them back a very short distance and deals physical damage.

Damage: 30/70/110/150/190 (+1.2 Total AD) Cooldown: 24/22/20/18/16 Cost: 7% current health and 40/50/60/70/80 mana Prerequisite: 8 plates

R:

Full Impalement: Aya skewers an enemy champion in melee range with all 8 plates and breaks them off inside them, dealing massive true damage. She cannot activate the ability twice in a row on the same opponent within a certain time frame.

Damage: 300/450/600 + (1.6 Bonus AD) (+.5 AP) Cost: 100 mana + 8 plates Cooldown: 0 Lockout Time: 90/60/30

Good Item Pickups (aside from usual defensive options): item 3074 Lifesteal, Aoe q shots. item 3072 Lifesteal and a shield to offset health costs. item 3004 Should stack pretty quickly with how spammable q is. item 3134 Armor Pen, AD, and CDR should make this a good pickup for early game. item 3508 Lifesteal, AD, CDR to increase Q's "Attack Speed", and the mana drain to help offset the mana cost. item 3158 CDR scales very well with her kit as it functions like berserker grieves while she is using her pistols. item 3031 Pistol Crits. item 3078 All around item that sho... why am i even explaining this? TONS OF DAMAGE item 3025 Blue Build Aya, would work until you get jumped on in terms of the poke. item 3153 Adds % damage and lifesteal to attacks, careful though as you can end up draining a lot of your own health with fast attack speed. item 3087 Lightning rounds.

A few last words: This is a concept that I have been playing around with for a very long time now and I do feel that the character delivers on the themes of run and gun, along with dive and assassination, without either being too overpowered. For example, she has to pretty much stun herself for 1s in order to pull out her pistols, and she can't endlessly kite as a ranged character considering she loses that range once someone gets on top of her, either by cc, or by her using an escape. She will have naturally lower armor and mr to compensate for the passive stats, she should be similar to other characters around 4 stacks on her passive. As an assassin, although it may seem she has 2 jumps to be slippery after diving in, but you have to remember, one of those jumps cannot be activated after she uses her ult, making it almost strictly an initiation tool. The kit rewards players who go out of their way to harvest blood at all points in the game by restricting access to the ulti and W unless the player can get the stacks up. I know some of the numbers will probably have to be tweaked a bit, the main one I am looking at is her passive sustain may be a tad low to sustain her health costs, but only making an in game prototype will give accurate information as to how true that is. In terms of positioning, I'd imagine she would be best played as a top, mid, or an off-pick champ in the adc position.

Working on a quick flash animation concept to show off the moves, the kit/theme will probably make a lot more sense after it is done.
