LoL Champion Contest Idea

I have been apart of the LoL community for a while now and even before was fascinated by the champions and lore behind them. I was wondering if you guys have ever thought of doing a contest for making a champion. Like having your community members making full champions designs and concepts.Then the best get voted on the winner becoming a actual champion in the game.

League and Riot do have a lot of support from the community and is probably very close to the community. I feel like it would be a great idea to have a world wide contest to have summoners create champions and or skin concepts. I know that there are already some character and skin concepts posted to the forums but the general idea of starting a actual contest where summoners would submit champions or skins and have them voted upon with overall winner ( for either skin or champion) be picked by series of voting. there are some flaws but a overall great ideas.

Simply its Riot job to introduce balanced champion that add something new to the table. While some people have good ideas, making it a vote based system would mean a winner could actually be a bad copycat of a other champion.

A good idea doesnt mean its balanced in game mechanic or bringing something new in champion diversity. I believe it should be something Riot decide and not the fans, for that reason.

Assuming there would be a bunch of entries riot picks the top ten they personally like. This would kinda counter than, they would see if it was before and not put it out for the voting.

There is already a huge following creating and sharing new Champion/skins. There's nothing wrong with something like this bringing those people together. It's also a good chance for talented yet unknown people to make their debut into the world. Yes Riot does have a team they pay to do this, but it could help land someone a job there and it'd bring fresh ideas into their company. Not having something like that could result in Riot losing out on a lot of publicity. You make having a good idea sound like it's not good enough, which could be true in most cases. But everything started with a good idea. There could be a rating system for each submission, scale of 1-10 on things like individuality or character believability.

I feel like the fact that there are so many Champions is what makes LoL so amazing. It has so many players, they need constant variety and it's not like there aren't more great ideas for new Champions. Progress towards a better League. That should totally be a slogan. I can see the banner now.

There are so many champions, that there should be categories. It would probably end up more like a tournament, but I doubt anyone would mind. Categories such as: cutest, scariest, fictional/magical. Those would be for fun, but there would also be weird categories sometimes. More examples would include; holidays/occasions, career/role (Officer Vi, DJ Sona, Striker Lucian and the Champions in the picture, Forecast Janna).

Or to be a lot simpler, Riot would choose 1 Champion, possibly also requesting a specific "look" for the summoners to create. If they did it this way though, you'd have to imagine there'd be way too many submissions for anyone to possibly go through. Say someone submits what would honestly be the best entry, but it gets lost amid the other millions of entries. That summoner also isn't famous or well-known in the League Community, so they don't have friends to fall back on and support their submission.

I personally would vote for having a yearly, or 6 month tournament. It'd be long enough to have lots of categories, giving more time for submissions to gain popularity and drawing out the festivities. Each summoner would be able to submit one entry only for any one category, but there wouldn't be a limit as to how many categories they could compete in. Thinking about it now, I don't know how they'd decide which categories would go before others. Hm....something for the drawing board.

New thought!!! There would be 2 Ultimate Winners!!! This idea made me think of a Dog Show, with a "Best in Class".

Riot takes every submission and we vote the best skin for each pre-existing Champion. New Champion ideas would have their own voting space. There are rating categories for every Champion

1-10 or 1-5 for Cute, Scary, Strong, Sexy, Original, Believable. You could end up with a minimum of 1 Finalist, or a maximum of 6 Semi-finalists. The Semi-Finalists would then be put to another vote without categories, resulting in 1 winner for pre-existing Champions.

For new Champion entries, there would be an extra category 1 vote for which lane that idea would do best in

Example

Pre-existing Champion An entry of a Nunu skin, but Nunu not riding his mount. If you see in every skin, Nunu is riding his mount thingy in the same location, between the scapula. If Nunu were portrayed as having a leash on his mount like a dog, it'd no longer be Nunu because it would lose its core design. 1-10 it would receive a 3 1-5 it would receive a 1 The 3 is being generous, because I assume I'd be able to at least know that the entry was for Nunu and not another Champion. If the idea submitted were a "role-reversal" with Nunu being a big mount with a little thing on his shoulders, I'd think the idea was too much like Reverse Annie and have to vote it a 1.
