Pantheon Concept
This game has been out for some time, and as a beta player, most things have changed to a point where some champions have complete over hauls and kit designs. I'm a huge fan of my favorite Spartan pantheon. His idea and theme stand out to me and makes him one of my favorite. As of recently, I've been thinking, maybe his aspect is completely wrong. Now a days you see pantheon players build mostly damage with 2 tank items late game depending on the early/mid game. Everyone knows this Spartan has a huge tendency to completely fall off late game and to me, the themed Spartan aspect doesn't fit well with his game design as this Spartan. He is a all in champion that has a average at best engage and take a bit of punishment with no reward. His skills are out dated and his passive can be completely un reliable in the heart of battle. As a Spartan like champion pantheon shouldnt be this frail glass cannon like champion but a honest juggernaut/fighter playstyle. A man with a shield like this should have is fighting aspect continue and strive through long battles. I have a interesting concept that I would like to share, so let's get straight to it. now to get something straight I'm at work and can't come up with the balances, CD, and mana costs of his kit.
Passive: heart seeker strike- Every time pantheon uses a skill he gains increased range on the next auto attack dealing % damage and piercing enemy's in a straight line ( similar to Yas Q)
Now my idea on this would make it so you can mostly control your passive and set up a unique strategy fighting style that A artisan of war would calculate.
Q: spear shot: a skill shot that goes through minions and stops if hiting a champion, neutral monsters, or at the end of its range.
Wait a skill shot! Before you get your pitch forks let's think about pantheons play style right now. Pantheons window of opportunity to engage is very limited all game. Now this wouldn't be a method of waddle someone down then all in it will be a strategic way of fighting especially with your W aegis of Zeonia. Also this will give him some jungle aspects(except piercing through big neutral monsters). Yes you can use this to harass but it wouldn't have the cool down like the live spear. The range wouldnt be nearly what nid spear would be but a respectable range of harass
W aegis of Zeonia: a shield charge click that charges towards an enemy( similar to alistar headbut) knocking them back depending on how far you charged. If a champion is hit with a spear and charged, pantheon will charge stunning them while grabbing his spear reducing the cool down of spear shot. Enemy's between pantheon and the speared enemy will be pushed aside. While pantheon charging he is immune to stun fear knock ups and slows.
Before you say hey Opie! The charge wouldn't be vi worthy of an ult but rather half or maybe even two thirds. Yes you can w to minions but don't get the effect of the immunity or push back unless they are speared. The knock back distance would be measly at close range but at far would be around what a thresh flay would be. With this he could make some good engages even with jungling. Like a niddle he could chose to take the leap or not. The plays with this could be what his kit revolves around. It's all about when to strike and when to defend.
W: Aegis protection- before and at the end of duration get heart seekers strike. Take reduced damage after blocking 1-3 attacks % reduced damage increases by how many stacks you have
This would bring his whole warrior kit together. To charge in and take reduced damage but to also utilize his old passive like behavior. With the charge and activation mechanic, you could generate 3 charges and strategize when you want to attack.
Ultimate: grand sky fall- now this would be pretty unchanged cause without his ult he isn't pantheon. With the kit I thought about it would mean more to engage or to get ahead for a full shield kock back into you team. Could even incorperate enemy's hit get hit slowed or just keep it how it is.
This is just a concept. A kit I thought of that would be more impactful for are Spartan hero. Now this is just a thought. Something I believe could be fun. Defending, engaging, and fighting is what being a Spartan is all about. Precision and knowing when to strike or when to defend is what are pantheon deserves :D. Leave your thoughts a comments and let me know what you think would be pretty neat idea!
