(Fiddlesticks) New Passive Idea: Hide in Plain Sight

Hide in Plain Sight: Fiddlestick's presence causes scarecrows to spawn in set locations around the map. While near a scarecrow, Fiddlesticks can assume its position, looking like any other normal part of the rift. Fiddlesticks still takes damage in this form, but does not display his health bar in order to add to the illusion.

I had this idea earlier today for a sort of Skarner passive meets Teemo passive where Fiddle can take the form of a normally innocuous scarecrow on the map in order to lie in wait

What this does thematically is put a true fear and paranoia into the hearts of the enemy team, because now any scarecrow they walk past could potentially be the master of fear and doom himself, Fiddlesticks.

Well that could take teemos gurilla warfare passive! That way we can still keep it, and teemos new rework too.

Sounds nice, but the problem imho is that it would only work if they made him a duelist instead of a teamfighter, effectively reversing his identity. You see, randomly meeting a Fiddlesticks in the jungle isn't scary. Like, at all. For anyone. Half of the roster can cc and kill him, half can outright burst him down through his healing, and half can just dash away if they are low.

That's correct, 150% of the champion roster has no reason to be afraid of meeting a random Fiddle hiding in plain sight. (His ganks rely either on his laner responding immediately or on the enemy being unexperienced enough to not ward AND push AND sit next to the minion wave)

Btw, it's the reason why item 3157 is core on him: it allows Fiddle to actually try to fight on his own the champions that would otherwise insta-delete him after ulting (+ teamfights).

Something like what you are proposing would be useful if it allowed him to ult in undetected, but he can already do that by using item 3364 before waiting in a bush.
