Champion Ideas - #1 The Void Parasite
First thing first, a quick intro! I've been playing league since season 1 and since then I always had ideas for champion designs. I only started writing them down more seriously early 2018 though… such a shame that so many ideas are now lost and forgotten. I now have a document with a few designs that are more fleshed out then the others and my friends keep telling me ''Send them to Riot and ask them to hire you!!'' So, now I share them here, one at a time to not have a 2 hours read post. Some ideas are overly complex, some are just funny ideas and other are more serious, but I had fun thinking about all of them. I will try to keep these post shorter, but they all have a lot more details in their actual document.
So here's the first one, back from early season 8, it is also one of the designs that I put the most work into. That one even has all his numbers but I'll leave them out of this post to keep things clear. (Also none of them have a name really...)
THE VOID PARASITE
-
Appearance: Varies a lot depending on his passive, but the base form, or the one without passive, is always the same: a pulsing heart moving around by the help of a swarm of worms yellow and purple in colour. After using his passive, it becomes a void-mutated version of the target with the heart socketed into it and worms dripping from the body.
-
Primary role: Jungler - his clearing time should be a bit under average
-
Secondary role: Support - Maintaining Infest Stacks as long as possible. Can also provide his jungler with bonuses using his W
-
**Regular build path: ** Designed to be very versatile in his item choices, but should mainly focus on more tanky items. His hybrid scalings allows him to not be restrained to buy a tank item because he couldn’t use one of its stats (i.e. Banshee’s Veil or Guardian Angel). But that same hybrid scaling allows the player to have fun exploring ‘’off-meta’’ build without the fear of being totally meaningless in the game.
-
Base stats: Starts with under average base stats and the stats gained per level are not that great either. The only exception is his base health regen being slightly above average to help him sustain the early levels in the jungle. Also, for a melee champion, his range is fairly high.
-
Resource: Health
ABILITIES Infest stacks mechanics: Some abilities can apply Infest Stacks which damage and slow the victim, more stacks = more damage and slow. At max stacks, the victim is rooted for a short time and loses part of the stacks. Evolution: Upon placing a second point in his ultimate, he gains a single evolution point that can be used to upgrade one ability.
Passive:
- Corpses: Any jungle camp cleared in the game leaves a corpse for little while. The enemy team can destroy them but if the Void Parasite collects them, he gains a permanant stat boost depending on which camp it was.
- Parasite: Not available for the early game and on a very long CD when used, this allows him to execute a non epic camp to parasite its body. While in this form, he gains a bonus depending on which camp it was and when taking fatal damage, instead of dying, he reverts back to his basic form, cleansed and healed.
-Q- Throws worms in a teardrop-shaped area, dealing damage and slowing enemies. Worms stay in the targeted area for a short amount of time, applying Infect Stacks overtime.
- Evolution: The area is bigger and last longer while also slowly expanding.
-W- Infests a non-epic jungle camp to make it stronger and harder to kill. Monsters from the camp grant extra XP and gold when killed by him or an ally, enemies getting only a fraction of the XP bonus. If the rift scuttler is infested, it will attack instead of fleeing. A ping is sent to the team when the camp is cleared by an enemy. The camp will also drop an additional corpse. An infested jungle camp has a void-like appearance and worms are crawling around it.
- Evolution: Infesting the Rift Scuttler causes the entire part of the river to be affected and the monster becomes even stronger. Enemies in the river are slowed and will start gaining Infect Stacks if they stand in it for too long.
-E- Activating this ability enhances the next few basic attacks to cause bonus damage and a stack of infest. Another bonus depending on the passive’s form is also granted.
- Evolution: While active, his attacks become ranged and cause their damage and on-hit effects in a small AoE around the target. The number of attacks is also increased.
-R- Worms swarm a large area around him, providing him with bonus movement speed and an overtime heal as long as he stands in the area. Enemy champions within the area gain Infect Stacks overtime. Jungle monsters in the area will also start attacking enemy champions. The stacking speed of infest is faster in the area.
IDEAS OF CAMP SPESIFIC BONUS
- Raptors: Attack speed || E bonus: Every 3rd attack applies on-hit twice
- Wolves: Movement Speed || E bonus: True sight as long as the target is Infested
- Krugs: Armor || E bonus: Bonus damage to turrets
- Gromp: Magic resist || E bonus: Lethality and Magic Pen
- Sentinel: Ability power || E bonus: Drains mana
- Brambleback: Attack damage || E bonus: Life steal
- Scuttler: Health || E bonus: Every 3rd attack briefly stun
Some notes to add to the design:
- Being force to leave any form by ‘’taking fatal damage’’ is not considered as dying, so it will not activate affects that take place when the champion dies (i.e. Guardian Angel or Chronoshift)
- In a game with two Void Parasite, jungle camps will still drop only 1 corpse
Thanks for reading all of that, if you like the idea, please feel free to leave a comment and discuss about the design. I will keep posting the other designs in the following days.
Have a nice (insert the time of the day when you read this)! ^^
