The splasharts are gorgeous. The composition of the illustration is on point, and then you just zoom in on the face of the skin and ruin it all. So I think riot should display the whole splash.
yeah i would like that for some specific ones they need to zoom in but i would love if i could put the whole odyssey kayn splash on my profile
No, they specifically chose a focused view of the champion because sometimes the full splash art doesn't have the champion as the central point. For instance, this group splash: https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/img/champion/splash/Amumu_8.jpg As you'll notice, in this one, Amumu is to the very far right, and Nasus is the on far left. With the profile page laid out like it is, Nasus would be blocked by the banner on the left of your page. So it's not exactly as feasible to use the whole splash in this case since it conflicts with the UI of the profile page.

I agree, or at least provide a place where we can see the whole splash art. Online's really the only option, because the skin tab shows most of it but darkens and blocks the left side of the image. I love all my details. Of course, I understand how that could be hard to do because you'd need to rework part of the client and that isn't a really high priority.
Read me out here. You can customize your own back ground with the picture. For example: For Coven Camille you zoom in on where the Crow is at and just use

that as your back ground zoomed in to fit, or whatever. I think it'd create a lot of diversity + creativity. I also don't even think this would be hard to create. But, Riot Games has managed to prove consistently that they're a small indie company, so -shrug-
If you mean profile backgrounds, I agree, this would be great. If you mean for the champion profiles, they USE to do this, and I would really like for them to bring it back.
