Lore
Rowen Stone Audio Log, day 27, entry 6
Today concludes our month-long investigation of the long abandoned Baudin estate, site of the disappearance of the so named family seven years ago. All that was ever found in previous inquiries was a mess of unknown cause throughout the abode. Much of the interior has been stained with what we assume is paint. One of the children, Glacia Baudin, was said to be a young prodigy of the arts, which would be a probable cause of the splattered pigments. *Chuckle* of course, if that is what passes as "Art", then I worry for the future creative minds of Piltover.
*Herm*-Anyways, no sign of the fate of visiting Demacian family was ever found... until now that is! It would seem this Family had owned some of Piltover's earlier models of audio recording devices from those days, and we've managed to now find one. It's seems to have suffered some minor damage, and the audio quality is most likely quite low by today's standards, but we may finally get some answers to this puzzle of a tragedy. I'll cease speaking for the duration of this play-back... starting now!

"An old relic I have waited to pass to the right person" she sai-*bzzz* -was too eager, to naïve. She paid and took that box so joyously... bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzttttttttttttttttt-zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzt-ll that was in that box was that brush... That DAMNEDcough-hack b-brush... It was horrible. Mother... father... we all agreed that the crone had swindled Glacia with that monstrous looking thing. We tried to get her t- `*fzzzzzzttt*- insisted that we let her keep it. She said, "a brush is a brush, no fuss"`. `*fzztz*`-rst she seemed fine. She went on as usual, only with that monstrosity at her fingert-`*bbbbztztztztztzzzzzzttzttt* -n she started acting different... She became more fidgety-more anxious and fearful... Her beautiful paintings.. replaced by that grotesque figure! She said she hadn't seen It in her dreams since she was a chi`*fzzztztztzt0*`- `*hack- wheeze*` said that it wanted out. And that paintbrush looked uglier and uglier each day... And now today- Dear gods today! I don't understand how... It-It just started to form from those paintings! We heard Glacia scream-and when we got there... her arm...cut open.. bleeding all over the floor! And the brush, just lying there, like it wanted more! It was just soaking up her blood from the floor.. and the paint started moving on it's own... mixing... blending `*zzzzt* -started shaping itself around that damned brush! *blagh*... And then that thing stood up and looked at her... like it still wasn't finished... She didn't even move... she didn't even make a sound...
And then... and then it... dear gods, why!?

He stabbed it, cut, it, even tried bludgeoning it with the stone bust... But nothing he bzzzztfzzztztztzt``-ignored him! But after it ate Glacia... then it noticed him....
*ztztztztzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzttttttttztztztzt*ouldn't do anything to save him- *cough*
We ran, and we felt something splash on us. The creature had covered us in its substance. I suddenly felt weak... frightened... All I could do was try to keep running . I heard mothers scream, but I just kept running...

Abilities
Passive – Corrupted Pigment
Reduces the duration and effectiveness of Crowd Control effects on Metus by 10/20/30%
Metus’ basic attacks and spells apply 1/2/3 stack(s) of _Deadly Strokes _ (Max 30 stacks for Monsters and Minions and 15 for Champions) to enemies. Each stack of _Deadly Strokes _ reduces a unit’s AD, AP, Armor, and Magic Resist by 1. After being out of combat for 3 seconds, enemies begin to lose stacks at a rate of 2 stacks per second, then at a rate of 3 stacks 2.5 seconds later. If Metus is killed, all stacks of _Deadly Strokes _ are immediately removed. Rank: LV1/LV8/LV15
- Spell Shields
will not block the application of _Deadly Strokes _
- Morgana’s
Black Shield will block the application of _Deadly Strokes _ for as long as it is in effect. However, it will not remove currently applied stacks.
- All stacks of _Deadly Strokes _ can be removed with Quicksilver
.

After 2 seconds, the paint lets out a wail and pops, dealing magic damage to and Fearing all marked enemies for 1/1/1.5/1.5/2 seconds. Metus gains True Sight of Marked enemies for the duration of the mark.

Active: Metus begins channelling. If Metus goes uninterrupted for 1.5 seconds it will melt into the ground, releasing its paintbrush and becoming untargetable. 1 Second later, the paintbrush appears at the target location, with Metus’ paint body reforming in that area after 0.5 seconds and becoming targetable again. Enemies within a 300-unit radius of the strike receive physical damage and are knocked-up for 1 second.

- Small units killed by Ravenous Frenzy (Except Teemo
and Scuttle Crab) do not leave a body behind after dying.
Metus is meant to be played as either a top laner or as a jungler.
Metus has poor mobility and damage scaling over the course of the match, instead focusing on defenses and several forms of Crowd Control.
During the early minutes of the game, Metus' strategy varies somewhat depending on its role.
As a laner, Metus' priority is building the appropriate defensive stat against its opponent to allow for easier farming. Once you put a point into you W, Trickling Despair and Metus' higher than average attack range can be used as zoning tools against your lane opponent, providing the threat of CC and Metus' stacking debuff. When being ganked, Trickling Despair is your best tool to disable 1 if not both of your pursuers. When your teammate is ganking instead, Trickling despair can be used to disable the enemy and give your Jungler enough time to move in. As a follow-up, Stalking Menace can be used to either further disable the opponent, or teleport farther down the lane to sandwich your enemy between 2 champions. Because of its high defenses, Metus can tank turret shots for your Jungler while they finish off the opponent.
As a jungler, Metus' priority is jungle sustain. Gromp/Golem should be Metus' starting camps, in order to maximize Metus' spells in the Jungle. Rather than the usual Jungler strategy of finishing off a camp with
, Metus benefits more from smiting a monster into low health, and then finishing it off with Devouring Eruption, gaining more health back through the passive bonus. Because of Corrupted Pigment, Metus is able to fare better in sustained fights against monsters (including Dragon) than most other junglers. When it comes to ganking, it is best to have a point in Trickling Despair and Stalking Menace, as this combo is Metus' key initiation tactic. Metus.
Throughout the game, Metus should not be building any offensive stats, instead building completely tanky. Armor and Magic Resist work better on Metus than building Health. Cooldown reduction is also recommended to be able to apply CC and Deadly Stroke Stacks at a faster rate. Metus has poor mobility, and a restricted teleport, making it very susceptible to kiting and ranged champions in general. For this reason, it is best to travel with a partner or stay near your team once the roaming phase starts.
When ganking or engaging in teamfights, Metus' priority is not damage, but rather jumping into the middle of the enemy team. Once there Metus' job is to not only disable as much of the team as possible through CC, but to get as many stacks of Deadly Strokes onto their champions as you are able and to stick to your target. Afterwards, it is up to your teammates to kill those enemies, as Metus does not have the damage output to get many kills on its own. Metus' engagement tool is W, Trickling Despair, which starts stacking Metus' passive and provides crowd control. This ability also combos into E, Stalking Menace, which is Metus' method of entering teamfights, as well as chasing. Metus' most powerful tool is its Ult/R, Ravenous Frenzy, which can disable whole teams and greatly weaken them if placed right. While Metus' spells are on cooldown, Metus works best as both a skillshot blocker, and if need be, bait. Meetus is generally an all-in type of champion, having few to no reliable escape options. As such, Metus players must be careful about the fights they jump into. If a fight goes wrong, Metus' best escape tool is Stalking Menace. However the process of marking a target and teleporting away takes up precious seconds, and as such, is still a risky move.
Overall, Metus is not a fighter, nor an assassin like some tanks can become. Metus wholly embraces it's tank role by being a lumbering juggernaut that just won't die; one that can literally strike fear into its foes.
