Zha´Kroth, the mind of the Void

Hello! This is a small post related to another created in euw (where I play) on the creation of a new champion. When i saw the "They are coming" icon, i was suddenly inspired and I decided to create this concept. At the moment I have only a few pieces of fast art and some spell data, which I have to translate, but gradually i´ll add more

Pasiva: Void resonnance Units under Zha´Kroth control deals X% more damage and receive X% less damage, the closer to him they are. Reading Surr@20 i saw this: **ZenonTheStoic **actually commented in this sort of thing yesterday:

Long answer! When we made League, we looked at the obvious inspiration, Dota, and made some baseline changes to the game that Dota, being a War3 mod, couldn't make. One of them is the "stickiness" of self selection. In League, you cannot "unselect" yourself as a unit, and this has a lot of positive implications, but it also means that RTS-like controls are out of scope. This is the most intuitive control scheme for multiple units.

So if we wanted to make a champ that was two independently controllable units, we would need to do a LOT of work on the UI / input side. Additionally, many skills learned on this champion would not be transferrable to other champions and no other champions would prepare you for this dual champion. And finally, because brain cycles are a finite resource, there is only so much complexity we could put into the champion's actual kit--most of its complexity budget would be eaten up already by the mere fact that you're controlling two independent units.

TL;DR: I don't think this kind of champion would be a good fit for League, but as always I could be wrong!

When i imagined the champ, I thought about how to fix this, cause i know it´s very complex to balance something with so many new things never seen in league of legends. and too cause I´ve been able to see the system of controlled pet is something ... weird.

What´s my solution, for this champ? When you control a unit, you directly transforms in that unit. The existent unit becomes invisible , immune and linked to controlled (basically, as a infinite taunt). Zha'Kroth does the same, but in different ways: When mind control, spawns an NPC with its form and stats (and the animation of his R), which is right in the area where he started the mind control and follow the same rules which with related units. Basically a lifeless shell, which will be the dummy reference for sharing the hp and the coordinates back. By decoupling. the invisible and immune unit is teleported to the ref position (the shell of zha´kroth)

Really you always control the same unit, if you dont understand me :)

My nerd senses are tingling...

When I think of LoL's void I imagine absolute incomprehensible chaos. This between-world however its explained must be inherently a magical place and that spews out from it are probably a consequence of something else. About the Void's environment, I imagine it as swirling and warping visages, shimmering and defiling. Two consistent things are the 'void essence' and the void's inhabitants.

  • The 'void essence' is instilled in Malhazar and Kassadin and so I assume it's a type of alien abduction or parasitic mind-control. For what purpose? Probably to Trojan-horse worlds outside of the Void for whatever reason.
  • The inhabitants of the between-world Void may always be exposed to the alien miasma, and may have a natural affinity of its chaos. This affinity could be identified as 'a gland that processes the alien miasma'.

So with this idea could stem a lesser Void creature, a drone, that excessively indulges in the alien miasma void essence and possibly has remote control of it. From this inspiration is my contribution for Zha'Kroth champion concept:

As a drone and mindless lesser servant of the God-like entity of the Void, Zha'Kroth and his kind serve to facilitate a consistent ecosystem for large monsters in the Void. So basically they're made to be preyed upon by Kha'Zix, Kog'Maw and Rek'Sai (Cho'Gath has bigger meals). This direct purpose is in connection with this God-like entity who may have deliberately created Zha'Kroth's kind, and so we can assume a unique affinity for the alien miasma void essence from which the God-like entity may also command.

This background concept suggests he is weakest and supportive of all Voidborn. Being a crab-like monster his unique play could be he entrenches (like the Scuttle Crab) and surrounds self with void essence.

#Zha'Kroth - the Essence of the Void

  1. Void Blight: Zha'Kroth's abundance of alien miasma is enough to weaken enemies keeping them away. A passive aura may progressively weaken his enemies making him able to survive. Void Force: This passive aura mutates lane minions and selected jungle monsters to his command, too, similar to what you suggest.
  1. Abduct: He'd be a ranged unit of some sort and possibly going to be a weakling support. In consistent with lore, this ability will instill allies or enemies with void essence to protect allies and damage enemies, phasing them in/out of the Void.
  2. Essence of the Void: Zha'Kroth may be able to heal but in a most unusual alien way. How? I propose that Zha'Kroth void essence is purposefully instilled in allies giving them the confidence to fight and recieve heals from damage. Chaos thematic.
  • One idea: More incoming damage; incremental heals-over-time. Call it solidified dense alien miasma crystals that just need shattering by enemies.
  1. Entrench: Zha'Kroth's lifestyle involves basking in weights of alien miasma in his atmosphere keeping him nourished. An ultimate ability to fortify and emit bursts of alien miasma to disable chosen enemies and save allies. The Abduct ability enhances during Entrench: Have fleeing allies phase in/out of the Void (remain mobile) and phase in/out chosen enemy targets, too (remain mobile). Manipulating the battlescene by disabling and confusing enemies in the purple fog.
